In conjunction with the name change, WWE announced it has changed the name of its entertainment complex in New York City’s Times Square from WWF New York to "The World", currently the name of its popular night club.

If it became WWE New York, then it would be the perfect night spot for all of us. After all, the acronym would be WWENY. That looks like it could be pronounced Weenie to me. | Swordsman Yen

OK, that sucked - but it was right there.
Either way, I can dig making the whole building known as the World.

If it does, I'm hoping it had nothing to do with those "tree-huggers". Renting space at Times Square isn't cheap anyway - but still. | BigDaddyLoco

| #7 Posted on 7.5.02 0312.30 Reposted on: 7.5.09 0320.33 | It's a fad building. When was the last time someone hosted a show there? It's a neat little idea, but when nothing is going on it's just a store in front with a big bar/dining area in back. Granted they are playing WWF footage all over the place, but it's really nothing special and I've never really seen it busy durning non show hours. They seem to sell a lot of T-Shirts out of there, but I doubt it's worth the rent. I can see them moving away from it in the near future. | dMp

Ric Flair's catchphrase is "WHFFFFFFFFFFFFF!"?
