I do not think I have picked Seattle yet to win a game in the palyoffs and they keep proving me wrong. And as much as I feel I SHOULD take them, I just think Pittsburgh is the mentally stronger team and will have this game sewn up by the starrt of the fourth quarter.

And I for one am glad that Vegas (and seemingly everyone online) is picking the Steelers, being the underdog (despite being the #1 seed) has worked well so far.
At least now I can maybe not have to listen to "well, the seahwaks just can't win a big game" or "they haven't proven anything/beaten anybody yet" for awhile...

A Steelers win with a non-cover is the only way you ever really can beat the house. Of course, the best possible scenario would be to have the Steelers at 22/1, jump the line last night when it was still 3.5, then bank that since the Steelers are a 'public team' the line was going to jump up to 5.5/6 before kick-off, in which case you cover your 3.5 point bet on Pittsburgh with a bet on Seattle. Worst case scenario, Seattle wins and you lose the vig. Best case is you get a 31-27'ish Pittsburgh win, whereby you get the 22-1 bet, you get the -3.5 bet, and you get the +5.5/6 bet. | FurryHippie

Thanks for blowing my mind.
As is usual, I don't care for either team, so I go for the better story. Bettis retiring after winning the Superbowl in his hometown makes for a good one, so I'm there. I know Seattle is a very talented team, and I know I'm gonna piss off Seattle fans when I say this....but it's the SEATTLE SEAHAWKS.....sometimes when a team sucks for most of my life, I can't look at them as "champions", even after they start getting better. | ImNotaWrestler

| #114 Posted on 3.2.06 1100.40 Reposted on: 3.2.13 1100.53 | The Steelers have rolled over the top three teams in the AFC - had the refs made the right call on Polamalu's interception against Indy the Colts wouldn't have scored on that drive, the Steelers very well may have and we'd have never had that last-minute orgy of fumbles, missed field goals and quaterbacks making tackles - and they've made it look easy. (Not to mention the fact that, in their four game winning streak that closed the season and snuck them into the playoffs they rolled over the eventual NFC #2 seed Chicago Bears.)
Unless they go in there acting like they've won already - and I don't think they're going to do that - the phrase "hellacious ass-whomping" is springing to mind. Nothing against Seattle, but I've never seen a team as determined as these Pittsburgh Steelers - and we may well be looking at a brand new dynasty developing here.
<----Hometown bias aside, I'm officially going with Pittsburgh 35, Seattle 10 - and I have a feeling it may not even be that close. | Java

I'm actually going the same score the other way:

| #119 Posted on 3.2.06 1811.14 Reposted on: 3.2.13 1812.00 | First, I would like to say that it is AMAZING in Seattle right now. I only lived in New England for Super Bowl XX, and I remember that there were PLENTY of New Englanders, my 13-year old-self included, that though the Pats were going to give the Bears a game, at least. Multiply THAT kind of belief times ten, and that's what you've got going here.
Today was supposed to be "wear your Seahawks-stuff day". I don't own any Seahawks-stuff, so Mrs. JJD bought me a hat. I wished she'd TOLD me she was going to do that, because the hat was TOO BIG. (What happened to fitted hats, anyway? This is some Flexifit-thing, and it's L-XL in size. The kicker is that's the ONLY size they carried! How many frickin' Barry Bonds-es live in Seattle, anyway?! Sheesh.)
The stupid Seattle Team Shop at Southcenter Mall (hey, EFF YOU GUYS) has a no return-policy, but since I didn't have anything better to do I decided to go exchange the hat for something else. THAT WAS THE ONLY STYLE OF SEAHAWKS CAP THEY HAD IN STOCK, and (as noted) only in that size. Of course, NOTHING else was interesting to me, as I hate T-shirts with printing on them and I never wear a stocking cap, and didn't want to pony up for a jersey. I settled on a Gonzaga hat, instead.
The kicker is that the line in the store was, literally, an hour long to get to one of the two registers. AN HOUR. All things Seahawk - jerseys, hats, T-shirts, kids-stuff - was flying out of there. This place has gone Seahawks-MAD.
(After thirty minutes in line, I decided that the 18-year olds at the registers were not going to be emotionally prepared for a guy wanting to EXCHANGE Seahawks stuff for non-Seahawks stuff. Also, I thought about trying to sell the hat to one of my fellow waiting customers, but I chickened out. The hat is sitting on my monitor right now. Stupid Mrs. JJD.)
Anyway...
