Well, yeah. I'm not saying Manning played a perfect game by any stretch or that he doesn't deserve any blame. But I will say this. Play action wouldn't have worked because Indy had very little running game on Sunday and with the way the Steelers blitz, all play action does is give them a little bit more time to get to the QB.

Well turns out most people got burnt on the NYG/Panthers game. Myself, I doubted the Patriots. And I think I was the only one to pick against them. I still have my doubts about them.

I also wonder how the Bengal's would've done if Palmer didn't get hurt.

Broncos 28 Steelers 24: This is an anti-Cowher in a big game pick. Plus, three in a row on the road has historically been deadly for NFL teams.

Seahawks 23 Panthers 13: Late score by the Seahawks makes the margin seem larger than the game will be. If Carolina was healthy and wasn't playing their 4th straight road game, I'd probably take them. Historical numbers state winning 3 in a row on the road in the NFL is difficult, 4 straight weeks is just going to far against convention.

Broncos over Steelers, 24-14. The Steelers are getting tagged too often with those "Team of Destiny" type labels which always seem to be a kiss of death. Plus Denver is a realy tough place to play.

Panthers 27, Seahawks 24. Going against the grain by picking the road team, but there are just too many questions surrounding Shaun Alexander. And because it would be weird seeing Seattle in a Super Bowl.

I'm sure someone can help me shoot down this theory, since it is anecdotal, but I've noticed that the team that celebrates a victory with a gatorade bath doesn't advance past the next round. I remember noticing this last year when Philly won the NFC title, and this year it happened when Cincinatti and the Giants each won their division titles. I noticed today that Cowher got the bath, and unless Seattle or Carolina do the same, as much as I might be inclined to say the Steelers can beat either of them, I may have to pick against them.

Well, everybody's going to be saying "Welcome back, Jake Plummer", but I'm not sure this game was totally his fault. He got little to no protection, and the defensive line finally looked like the Cleveland Browns line that the Steelers had little trouble with last year. He made some bad throws, but I think that's because of awful pass protection and trying to do way too much. It'll be fun to see if Bettis can get his ring. I might root for the Steelers, even if two of the most annoying people on the planet (that I know of) are Pittsburgh fans.

I can imagine. All I saw this week in class was Steelers jerseys and the ever so tasteful "If you ain't a Steelers fan, you ain't shit!" T-shirts.

It's too bad the Eagles (or another geographically close team) aren't going to be in the Super Bowl. The brawls in and around campus would be fun to watch.

The early line is Steelers -3 1/2. I think my "2001 Patriots"-comparison for the Seahawks is looking pretty good right now, and I think they'll win the Super Bowl, too.

I may be biased (since I'm an NFC guy), but that's just a slap in the face to the entire conference, especially considering the equally dominant performances both teams had today. Doesn't the Seahawks' getting the #1 seed count for anything, Vegas guys?

At that price, I'm definitely picking the Seahawks, that much for sure.

I'm just happy the Broncos are gone. That is all I cared about.

Actually, I'm somewhat of a Steelers fan as Big Ben helped me out in Fantasy Football, and I do want to see Bettis get a ring. Therefore, to help that along, I will do what I've done for almost all of the playoffs and pick against Pittsburgh. I'll be rooting for them, but my official pick is that Seattle wins in a shootout of sorts.

You can't win if you can't stop the pass. The Broncos secondary was suspect all season and the lack of any pass rush just made it easier for Big Ben to find his receivers in the seams of the zone. 3rd & 9 might as well have been 3rd & 1. Jake reverted to himself with his pick at the end of the 1st half and his pick early in the 4th - I'll give him a pass on that final fumble.

Can't pick the Seahawks out of my longstanding hatred of them as AFC West rivals and I always kind of liked the Steel Curtain as a kid and remember vividly watching Franco catch the Immaculate Reception.
