It seemed to me like Brady might win the award since I kept hearing about how he was the only thing holding the Pats together at points during the season, what with their defense and offensive line suffering massive injuries.
I wouldn't have been averse to Tiki Barber winning the award. With Eli's lapses late in the season, the Giants certainly wouldn't be in the playoffs without him.
Still, I can understand the logic behind giving it to Alexander. | JustinShapiro

Yeah. The MVP was the evil Brady, who almost singlehandedly won about four or five of their games in the first half of the season. | BigSteve

Brady and his Patriots continue to get "no respect" from the media. Damn it all.
If you think MVP is "Most Outstanding Player", there wasn't a much more deserving player than Alexander. If you think it's the guy who means the most to his team, then you're probably giving it to Brady. I'd have to give it to Alexander, but I don't feel strongly one way or the other.

My father, the Giants fan, has been walking around for weeks cockily predicting that Tiki was going to win, even though I kept telling him that the voters focus more on touchdowns than yardage in picking this stuff. He's going to be pissed when he hears Tiki didn't even come *close* to winning. :)

Tom Brady Tiki Barber Peyton Manning Steve Smith
Brady held together a patchwork Pats team that had no right winning some of the games they won early in the year. He should have ran away with this award. Tiki should have garnered more votes as he signle handidly carried the Giants throught the second half of the year. Without Tiki, the Giants fall to third in their division and out of the playoffs. Also, Eli and Plax disappeared for long stretches during the second half and Shockey was hurt. Manning was Manning and had a great year and should always be considered for the MVP. Smith was unstoppable for the first half of the year and accounted for 40% on Carolinas receptions. Had he not come back to Earth towards the eand of the season, I would have moved him up to #2.
What Brady and barber did this year was awesome. They should have been recognized more for it. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
