I saw a dvd at Suncoast with Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara, and it looks like a shoot video, talking everything from the WWE days up until WCW was sold.

Anybody see these? Would you recommend them? I know its only twenty bucks but I would hate to waste my time watching them if they are lame or not as interesting as they appear.

It's Ed Ferrar and Vinnie Roo talking to Wade Keller for about 2 and 1/2 hours, if you don't want to spend $20 on it I'll send you my copy for $10. :)

I personally thought it was a great DVD, well worth the money. I wrote a review a few months back, and from all accounts, its one of the better "shoot" interviews out there.

The same producers also did an interview with The Hardy Boyz (I just found the first of the three discs on sale last week, and have just started to skim through it) -- But the "Ultimate Insiders" series is definitely better than a lot of the single-camera, list-of-questions type shoots that are out there.

A lot of it is common knowledge stuff. It was lent to me, so I enjoyed it but there's not a lot of bombshells.
It's interesting hearing about the inner day to day workings of WWE, though.

A lot of the WCW stuff is sugarcoated (I presume due to the Hogan lawsuit or various gag orders.)

If anything, the DVD does humanize Ed and Vince and slightly redeems them.

But I wouldn't spend $20 on it.

The WWF stuff is REALLY interesting. They let you in on what it's like to work closely with Vince as well as guys like Austin, Rock, Hunter, Undertaker, and Foley. I was dissapointed in the WCW disc, though, as they don't go in to nearly enough detail about what went on there. It's basically the same stuff Russo has always said about his time in WCW, and there's nothing new. If you can get them in seperate discs, I'd definitley try and get the WWF one.

I dug it, although I haven't watched a lot of shoot videos. Russo seems like he may be rewriting history a bit, and he beats the born-again stuff like a drum, but I thought there was a lot of good WWF detail in there.

I liked it. Was pretty straight forward. Neither seemed to really hold anything back the entire DVD. Was informative in alot of ways. Im sure some of it is clouded with personal opinion, but thats how any interview is. Overall I recommend it if you are interested in the inter-workings of wrestling.
