| #1 Posted on 22.12.05 1424.42 Reposted on: 22.12.12 1425.44 | WWE's Survivor Series, put on in the wake of Eddie Guerrero's death, drew an estimated 375,000 buys according to WWE's Investor Relations website.
In comparison: 2004's SS drew ~400,000, 2003's SS drew 450,000, and 2002's SS did ~325,000.
Despite the slight dip in buys for the event, WWE's PPV numbers are still well above the numbers they did for fiscal 2005, as every event has either drawn much better than its fiscal 2005 counterpart (One Night Stand, Vengeance, SummerSlam) or done about the same (JD, Bash, Unforgiven, No Mercy, Taboo, SS). | #2 Posted on 22.12.05 1436.33 Reposted on: 22.12.12 1440.46 | It should be pointed out that all the improvement in PPV buys can be traced to increased PPV availability in new places as opposed to increased interest in the product. There are exceptions with some obviously much more alluring shows this year (ECW One Night Stand vs. a regular B-show, loaded Vengeance 05 vs. not loaded Vengeance 04, SummerSlam 05 with a dream match vs. SummerSlam 04 with no real main events). But on the whole, domestic buys, where the markets haven't changed, are all down. Money is money, but there's no increased drawing power, just increased places to draw. | RYDER FAKIN

It's kinda nice that they can now almost legit say -"Tonight, (this PPV) is being watched in (x) number of countries around the world!"...and have it mean more than some guy's satellite dish in Turkey

I cant remember the last time it was actually mentioned during a show other then them saying "We want to thank our fans in the U.K. for being up so late to watch us live".
