Poker first (in any of its forms that don't use wild cards). Next would be spades, then a Korean game called Go-Stop (tiny cards RULE!). Promote this thread! | | whatever

There's a game called "Take the Lead" that we used to play for hours on end -- I don't know how common a game it is, or if that's even the official name for it, or what. I tried Googling "card games" and "take the lead" and got like a billion hits that were no help.

It wasn't unusual to have games run from dusk to dawn, and they were just as cutthroat as our Trivial Pursuit games. We never played for money but the pride of winning/shame of losing or causing your partner to lose was well worth it. Games aren't as frequent as most of the hardcore Pinochle players were older members of the family who have passed on or don't travel. But we still get a game going every now and again and it's as fun as ever to drive people crazy by sandbagging to draw out their trump. | orangeman

May I suggest that your first lesson be not to take back ANYTHING you see on Celebrity Poker, other than the words of Phil Gordon.
I play a lot of poker. My favorite games, in order:
- 7 Card Stud - 5 Card Draw - Omaha Hi/Lo - 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo - Omaha - Texas Hold 'Em - Razz - Deuce to Seven Lowball - Ace to Five Lowball
I usually prefer Pot Limit to No Limit, but it's near impossible to find ANY live games outside of Texas Hold 'Em, so I rely primarily on the Internet.
My addiction to the game has resulted in my Not Updating My Website Since June.
My wallet has also found itself fluctuating from fat to thin, depending on the particular stretch of gaming. I'm up about $2000 (US) since I started playing regularly in May.
I love me some cards! |
