FINALLY the search is over:

ESPN.com - MLB - Dodgers hire ex-Red Sox manager Grady Little

All things considered, I think he was the best choice the Dodgers could have made. The Dodgers need someone with Little's experience and he really only has one black eye on his record and that was leaving Pedro Martinez in for too long in game 7 of the ALCS. But considering the Dodgers currently don't have anything close to what it takes to make it that far, I don't think they'll have to worry about a mistake of that magnitude.

Now let's go find some free agents!

I never thought highly of Little as a manager prior to 5 outs to go on that awful October night. However, he did win over 90 games in both of his seasons as a major league manager, so he does have a better resume than other recycled managers.

As a Yankee fan, I have no ill will towards Grady Little.

Plus, he was the baseball advisor on Bull Durham, best baseball chick flick ever.

BUT, let's see how well he does with the limited talent he has in LA.

quote from the new LA Dodgers' GM, at his initial press confrence, about who he was looking for in a manager:

We are looking for a great leader, somebody who has won -- who has won the last game of the season

uh huh. Nailed that one.

He won the last game of the season in 2002. Of course, the Red Sox missed the playoffs by 3 games that season, but he's technically correct.
