It was a good Raw. The courtroom stuff was good. And for a second I thought Mickie James was trying pull her skirt DOWN for a change.
I missed "The Cutting Edge" segment with Micheal Hayes. But my friend said that P.S. was his usual kick-ass self. And noone, like stated before, probably knew who he or the "Freebirds" were.
And I liked the main event with the pep talk beforehand and Shelton playing Ricky Morton and hottagging HBK then Shelton get too cocky blind tags him and ends up losing the match.
And was that thing with Candice wand thing where the star fell off just a screw-up and they just ended the match? Did she mean to throw the wand and the star fell off or what?
And I have a feeling that Torrie's dog is actually Billy Kidman.

I kind of thought that she was supposed to HIT Mickie James with it, but in midswing the star flew off and they improvised into a blind roll-up to end the match, rather than a roll-up where MJ is staggered from the wand attack. | AWArulz

I'm pretty sure they aren't. Cade had a match with Tajiri on last week's Heat and the announcers were talking about how Cade is trying to have more singles success like his partner Murdoch. So for now at least, they aren't officially done. | Deputy Marshall

Maybe not officially, but Cade ate the pin on two consecutive shows (the webcast of Heat and last night on RAW) while Murdoch is gunning for the IC title. I think it's safe to say that they're done.
I'm wondering if the two just weren't getting along and/or if Cade pulled some stunt backstage, since it sure seems like he's getting punished for SOMETHING. | Excalibur05

ANYHOW, I lost count of Mickey's panties sighting (and shot count) at about 14.
Mick Foley still rules.
Exchange of the night, after an awkward silence
Lawler: "Do they still have windmills?"
Styles: "Yes they Do.................... Maybe not in Memphis"
Was I the only one who thought King and Styles did a pretty good job without Coach in the mix?
Also HBK chewing gum = HELL GOODNESS.
I would also like to echo the PS Hayes love. Reminded me why I always cheered him vs the Von Erichs.

That kind of makes sense if Bishoff is just taking a few weeks off and they want to set up Hogan/Austin for WM. Has anyone who reads Wrestling news seen this reported at any half-assed reliable source?

A thoroughly unentertaining Raw. Welcome abord Joey, here's the worst show in a while to announce.
The Power is Back has equated to a return to the stupid skits. The trial of Easy E did have moments (Tajiri's translator WOEFULLY mistranslating him, Masters' confused 'he said my REAL name look', Foley's moonpie no sell of the Boogeyman) but it was way too long. It doesn't take that much time to tell us you have a big dick Vince.
And I KNOW HHH could have given Tajiri a little more to work with.
Michael Hayes was the highlight of Raw. Of course, that's not saying much...

But if I can be serious for a minute... what didn't you like about the show, AngryJohnny? I'll grant you that in terms of pure wrestling content, it was a little on the low side. But we got rid of Bischoff which will at least shake things up a little. Maria put one over on us by acting like, all of a sudden, she has a semblance of a brain. Big Show and Kane continue to be pushed as unstoppable monsters which bodes well for the match with Batista and Rey at Armageddon (though bad for the RAW tag-team division, but really it couldn't get much worse). Shelton was in the main event, and the story of the match means they might actually be doing something interesting with Shelton for a change (though I'll believe they're serious about really pushing him when I see it; after all, last week he was jobbing to Trevor Murdoch).
And the entire Cutting Edge segment was just pure genius... if they really allow Edge to just cut loose on whatever the hell he wants, people will tune in to see "what that son of a bitch is gonna dare to say and do next."
Granted it's not saying much, but I have to think this was the best RAW we've had in at least the past month or two, and it makes me legitimately curious, for a change, to see what's going to happen next week. Which, considering I need to keep some enthusiasm for the product in order to recap it well (CRZ's late-'99-and-onward Nitro recaps notwithstanding), that's not a bad thing... that's... a good thing.

Well, that's pretty lame. I thought the little video's before their arrival were pretty good, and it seemed like there might have been a nice little spot for them in the tag division. They might have won the straps a little to soon, but still ... Cade was the only one who ever talked how is Murdoch going to get over?
... does it even really matter?

| #40 Posted on 7.12.05 2055.36 Reposted on: 7.12.12 2056.20 | I pretty much agree with Eke's last post in terms of how much potentially good stuff this Raw sets up (mainly the interesting Shelton stuff), but i also see where AngryJ's coming from; it wasn't a great Raw in itself, there was too much of the courtroom stuff and "taking out the trash", no matter how good Maria and Foley were. It all depends on whether you're getting excited about the big picture, or just want to actually see some good matches for once. |
