This might be more of a thread for later in the day as those shopping filter back in. Me, I stay in on Black Friday because I can't stand lines that usually stretch further than your local amusement parks.

Working at Target in preparation for Black Friday, I got to see many deals being put out, but since I work overnight I wasn't able to partake in the savings. There are of course things I wanted, and hopefully when I work tonight I can pick up items that people haven't bought all up.

So when you are done, be a dear and post some of the best deals you got from the BF rush. I wanted to buy the Simpsons season six which we were selling for 20 bucks. I would have liked to see if the various MST3K collections were on sale, especially the recently released volume eight, but we don't sell them at Target. My sister and bro-in-law are picking up a HD TV as we speak, so that will be great for me.

What did you pick up today on sale?

Well, it's a normal day here, but I certainly enjoyed that clip on CNN which had two guys in an Orlando Wal-Mart swinging fists over a laptop.

Not a store or a deal I've taken advantage of myself (yet), but ROHwrestling.com is having a Black Friday sale - 25% off anything and everything, with no minimum purchase required - until 9pm tonight. If you haven't done so already, this would be a perfect opportunity to pick up the Joe vs. Kobashi DVD, which is simply awesome, for about fifteen bucks.

Don't want this to come across as a shill or anything, but that's something I personally don't think I'll be able to pass up, and thought I'd share.

Thanks for the tip. I went and picked up Joe v. Kobashi and Punk's final match. Everyone should take advantage of this :)

65% off a 'dress' winter jacket for my dad, which is the only bargain that made getting up 4 hours before I had to be in work this morning worth it. :)

The Daughter and I routinely get up early and poke around on Black Friday morning. Not buying - looking. Longest line was at Target, with Bass Pro a close second. We actually went into Bass Pro - but you couldn't see anyone! (they were all wearing Camo - I love that joke). It was busy - lots and lots of fishing equipment and camo going out the door. Best buy was busy and we saw a line at Old Navy, which opened later. By 7:30, we were back at the house having hot chocolate. We made our pilgrimage to Pennys for their free Christmas snow globe. (I think that's the 8th or ninth one we have)

I didn't know that they do that until this morning when I got a Mickey Mouse snow globe. Someone labeled some jewelry with the wrong sign and I got my wife a $200.00 pair or earrings for only $60.00. Target was pretty busy also, but worth the trip for some of their stuff. A bit tough to park their, though.

Went to Best Buy, looking for The Sims 2 for the girl my mom has "adopted" this holiday season at work. No go.

I was also looking for Sirius radio, but I was convinced I can find the Sportster Replay for less than 150 bucks. After digging online for a long time, I'm, convinced that I can't. I thought I had Circuit City coupons, but I'd have to spend more than 200 bucks for them to kick in, unfortunately. There's a 50 dollar mail in rebate, though.

I usually go to Best Buy on Black Friday, but this year I went to Wal-Mart with a friend and his new wife to help them pick up some things for their new apartment.

However, I was also able to partake in some of Best Buy's BF deals. Sorta. I just happened to be reading this thread (bf2005.com) last night/this morning around 2:00a EST. Apparently Best Buy was offering some of their BF deals on the website as early as Thanksgiving night. I bought the $380 laptop and $250 digital camcorder.

Despite the fact that I got confirmation numbers and emails for both purchases, this afternoon I got an email from BB saying that my laptop order was canceled due to lack of availability. Apparently a lot of other people at bf2005.com that took advantage of this loophole received similar emails. No cancellation email for the camcorder though! I have a UPS tracking number and they claim it has been shipped, but I won't be comfortable until the camera is in my hands.

Did Circuit City, Target, and the mall, starting at 5am this morning.

Circuit City had the worst line (And no, "But I'm W of the Day!" doesn't get you VIP treatment. Damn.), and that was just to get in. Missed getting Season 2 of Arrested Development for $12.99, but I got the Panasonic digital camera with free 256 MB SD card.

Target wasn't so bad. I was surprised the Ultimate Lightsabers weren't sold out by the time I got there. Got one each for my nephews.

Even the mall had pretty light foot traffic. I was surprised.

A couple of 19in flat panels for $199 each (after rebate) and a mispriced copy of The Movies Premiere Edition (same $49.99 as the basic edition) from CompUSA. That, and since I was next door, I took back a copy of Dead Like Me: Season 2 that I had picked up for my sister-in-law and her husband which I was somewhat distraught to learn already had bought it when we were at their place for Thanksgiving. At least I found out about it early...

Picked up 24 seasons 1 and 3 for $20 each at Best Buy and then went home and slept some more. The lines weren't bad, but that was probably because I wasn't there when the store opened and there was about twenty registers open.

I've been doing this for years. This year, I was able to get several things online first, however. Got 3 portable DVD players online at Circuit City for the kids on Thanksgiving, and was able to get a flat screen 19" monitor from Staples online at 4 in the morning for $169. Then I headed off to Target, was about 15th in line (noticed the line at Best Buy was around the block, what a mess). Was able to get the Kodak digital camera and 2 video chairs that I wanted, amongst other stuff. Then headed to Circuit City, got a Game Cube bundle and avoided the lines by picking up the stuff I ordered online the day before and paying for it at customer service. I was home by 7:30 am, with my Christmas shopping 90% done.

Well, since most of Target's stuff was on sale for two days, I was able to pick up Simpsons season 6 and the World Series of Poker game both for under 20 bucks each. I suppose I'll get stuff for other people some other time. Maybe.
