I remember he was imprisoned for kiddie porn some years ago, but he doesn't seem to have learned his lesson.

Gary Glitter Facing Child-Sex Rap

The bouffant-wigged British crooner allegedly committed "lewd acts" on the girls. If found guilty, Glitter could face up to 12 years in prison for obscene behavior, while a charge of child rape could carry the death penalty, which would be carried out by firing squad.

What was he doing in Vietnam anyway? He had the right idea going to Bangkok, but was too late. Honestly, I saw countless Western men in Bangkok walking around holding hands with boys and girls looking around 15 years old and nobody blinked an eye.

I had seen mention of this last week that he was on the lam, but forgot to linkify.

I dare you to think of Gary Glitter without getting "Rock and Roll Part 2."

Thanks for the update, JJD.

I actually want to know what "Rock & Roll, Pt. 1" sounds like. Why does Pt. 2 get all the attention?

You can listen to the sample on the Amazon.com page for his Greatest Hits compilation. It's essentially the same song, except Part 1 isn't as hard and has lyrics (other than "...HEY!").

You'd think that there'd be more international pressure on Thailand to not be a haven for child molesters.

Heh, I always thought part 1 was Led Zeppelin's Rock & Roll.

On the Bob & Tom radio show this morning, they played the song and at the "HEY" parts, they dubbed in gunshots . . . presumably from the firing squad.
