Has anyone used or know anything about those "We'll sell your stuff on eBay for you" places? We're moving, and I figure I can get rid of some of my stuff. Using eBay is way too much bother for me, and I figure even if I get $10 net for something I could have sold for $25, I'd be willing to do it for the convenience.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Do it yourself. By the time you've had it all "evaluated" by them and they pick out your best stuff, you could have already put it all online.

I went to one in San Diego and they wanted a huge commission to do almost nothing.

I would say it has to depend on what you're trying to unload. If you have a good idea of what you've got might sell for, based on similar items being sold on eBay, and just don't want the hassle of getting photos, setting up an account to sell, and deal with the shipping, then it might be worth it to you to have someone do all that for you.

If you realize you don't have time to play eBay games, and would otherwise toss your stuff, or worse pay to move it and then pay to store it.

There is one of these places near me (neighboring town), and I think their handling fee is pretty reasonable when you get a high enough volume of stuff. For one or two small-ticket items, its not worth their time to do that for you, nor is it worth your time to haul your junk to them.

Good luck on your move.

Have you considered having a yard sale? Or placing an add in your neighborhood's free paper?
