I was at the show for Wednesday's taping (last shows taped before a holiday break are usually worth the trouble to see live) and just watched the television edition. Although mainly centering on two matches, both were long, nicely executed matches that really showed the wrestlers giving their all.
The first match was Mark Henry essentially beating on Pat Buck and whipping him until the camera crew got bored and moved on to something else. The first real match of the night was the one filmed the week before (but not aired until this week) of Mickie James and Jillian Hall. Very, very good match between the girls, with some excellent pacing and of course the much-talked-about 450 Splash from Hall off the top-rope to end the match. These two had worked together forever it seems in OVW, so it's no wonder they were able to pull this off, however.
Third match was Elijah Burke pretty much doing a squash on Kasey James. But this was followed by another good match between Brent Albright and C M Punk, running about 24 minutes and featuring Punk pulling out some Eddie moves (including the Frog Splash) and Albright going the Benoit route soon after with a flying headbutt. Punk won thanks to Ken Doane ramming a chair into Albright's head, only for Doane to then Punk so hard with the chair that I thought the seat of the chair was going to fly off.
The show ended with the ten-bell salute to Eddie that was actually filmed near the beginning of the night. BTW, this explains why you don't see or hear anything about Eddie during the Mickie/Jillian match, since that was filmed the week before. Both Punk and Albright were wearing stuff that mentioned Eddied, however (armband for Albright, while Punk had "Eddie" written on the tape wrapped around his forearms).
Anyway, only two full matches on the show, but worth the time to center the show around.

I'm finally getting caught up with the last 3 months of OVW via TiVo and am liking the longer matches (I just watched the Ken Doane/Brent Albright match from 10/1 last night and it was pretty good. Liked the breaks and the extensions (especially Bobby Lashley finally breaking from BS). Glad to see the longer matches are a trend.
edit: I had Nic Nemeth in mind instead of Doane - D'oh.

It's too bad WWE killed all the flashy cruiser moves, because that 450 splash could really get Jillian over if they moved her to Raw and let her use it in the women's division. But no, they have to stick her on Smackdown as a valet with a giant booger stuck on her face.
