OK so Tivo didn't work and I missed the TNA clash of champions so no workrate report for Episode 6.

What Worked:

Samoa Joe vs. Austin Aries worked a five minute version of their match. The two of them are really fun against each other as both do are awesome at eating the other guys offense. You watch this and can't help but feel that these two guys were just made to eat eah others stuff. That said this was short. For a match with large guy forced down by smaller guy using crucifix this was absolutely smoked by Rey vs. Orton from same week. I guess this was best of Joe Impact competitive squashes but I'm tired of competitive squashes I want fuller matches...I want more time. Daniels is on the mic for this match and seems to be working the same we're bringing in Joe as the muscle for The Ministry that he worked with Joe in the Prophecy. For a minute I think AWESOME they're redoing this angle maybe they'll bring in Corino. But lets be realistic I'll get no Corino. No I don't get the fat good ex-ECW worker who has good mic skills. Instead I'm stuck with the fat useless ex-ECW guy telling knock knock jokes.

What Didn't Work:

Back stage stuff stunk. I should point out that Zbysco vs. Aj Styles smoked Raven vs. Aj Styles...I was amused by the dueling evil laughter between Scott DÁmore and Shane Douglas.
DÁMORE: HEE-HAA-HAAA-HAA
DOUGLAS: AHH-HAA-HO-HA-HA
It was embarrasing but I giggled watching its amateurness. Flash Flannigan had a really great hockey stick v kendo stick on a pole match with Andy Anderson. Unfortunately this match won't have Flash Flannigan in it. Fuck where is Flash Flannigan's old nemesis partner Wolfie D/Slash? He might be able to have a good on a pole match. I have no faith in any of the guys actually in this being able to do that.

Kip James comes out in a "I'm Kip James B#tch"T shirt. That joke is a year out of date. I mean Raven is still working troubled grunge gimmick 12 years past that gimmicks experation date. And Are the Dudley's still doing the WAAA's UP? ? So its not like wrestling is about being current but still. Kip James throws the one punch he can execute well in this. Lex Lovett does a handspring back elbow so bad that even Chyna would be embarrased. Billy Gunn can't use the Styles Clash since he's come to TNA so he tries to invent an even more convuluted innovative finisher"I'm Kip James Bitch"half nelson cobraclutch slam... And I worry about them one day running a Sabin vs. James... Future Shock vs. Kip James Bitch dueling finishers match.

Speaking of dueling finishers matches...Petey Williams vs. Aj Styles dueling finishers STANK. I mean I normally like dueling body slams matches but this was a mess as the announcers keep on talking about how Petey Williams van hit his finissher out of nowhere but instead he seems to need to mime pulling an imaginary rope followed by making the "I'm gonna do something spinny"hand motion in the air to set it up.

The main event almost made the top side. The heel team is better than the heel team from the main of episode 4. But the heel team is missing AJ Styles. Instead you get Chris Sabin in his place. The heels all look good here and Jarrett continues to look good in tags. Jeff Hardy works face in peril and he's fine at that...not especially good, just fine. Sabin was being booked as hot tag. felt like Jarrett was selling too much for Sabin as they do elaborate reversal sequence with Jarrett avoiding the Future Shock and Sabin avoiding Jarretts stuff. Eventually Jarrett needs a second rope stroke to put Sabin away. Why does he need a second rope stroke to put away Chris Sabin? Why protect Sabin this much in your main. Its Sabin he's part of that Bentley, Dutt, Shark Boy jobber team. Jarrett did nice job putting him over...it just didn't make any sense why? and well match might have made top if it wasn't for Hoyt. Lance Hoyt seems to be getting actively worse from week to week and he was given way too much to do in this match. He should never ever ever ever be allowed to dive again. he shouldn't be allowed to punch or kick either and probably would be a good idea to not have him eat stuff either. You need to keep him out of the ring as much as possible.

Just re-watched an old Continental tape circa 1988ish. Jeff Jarrett and Willie B. (Pistol Pez) Hurt vs. The DI and Detroit Demolition, and I thought, this Jarrett kid would do real good in an established tag team. Wonder what happened to him?
