This year my bro-in-law has offered to handle the cooking duties for the family - turducken has been mentioned, but I don't know if he's going to go with it or not at this point. There was a super super sale on turkey breasts a while back - ours is STILL in the freezer but I'll do SOMETHING with it sooner or later - probably when we're snowed in and I have nothing better to do but cook and bitch about the weather on the Internet. But I digress. I'm probably getting away with making the traditional green beans with crunchy onion topping thing that practically everybody has on Thanksgiving - Kim's making...shoot, I forgot. A special salad I think...something Martha would make? ANYWAY Thanksgiving is only TEN DAYS AWAY so if you haven't thought about it yet, now's the time - then - POST

We'll be heading to Indiana to my father's house and enjoying a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings that I don't have to cook, unless I get suckered into making my chorizo cornbread stuffing. Of course, that also means no post-Thanksgiving leftovers but I can probably live without those for one year.

Usually it is a toss up between my relatives in south-west Minnesota, husband's relatives in Oshkosh Wisconsin, or him being on call for his job and us being unable to leave town.
This year the Wisconsin Badger football team is playing the Hawaii Warriors(?), so Thanksgiving will fall during our visit to Hawaii/Maui. We are attending this game. UW of Madison is husband's alma mater. They are the only football team that he really follows; he wanted to go see this game. Interestingly enough, they are the only thing that can make him raise his voice in anger. He has been shouting at the tv alot these past two weekends.
Please, please, please don't hate me....

It was quite tasty the year we made for Thanksgiving. However, since I did a churrascaria for my birthday last weekend, my need for multiple meats is lessened enough this year for turkey to be palatable.
I don't really care about the dinner, but I'm looking forward to dessert. I always pick up a good banana creme pie, and then there will be homemade chocolate pie, cake, and cookies. I am looking forward to a lazy fattening day. | Ryan_A

So - Oven Turkey, Fried Turkey, Stuffed Pork Loin, Beer-Can Chicken, Deer Meat, Alligator Meat, Fresh Fried Fish, Crabs, Clams, Shrimp and all the goodies that go with it. Now Turkey in a Trash Can. That should do it...also, some good homemade booze, but that's mine all mine

I'm planning on making my tex-mex cassarole as a side dish, since it's the only thing I know how to make in that large of a quantity. Or, to put it a better way, make WELL.

We do cornish hens, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, and for dessert, pumkin pie with real heavy whipping cream. Then the day after Thanksgiving, we traditionally roll on over to the nearest Gamestop and take advantage of their buy two, get one free deal. Spend the rest of the weekend playing video games.
