In the "Uneasy Allies" storyline, everything led up to a World Heavyweight Title match against Triple H in a cage. I ended up losing the match, and afterward, Bischoff declared the title vacant. I never went back and re-played the match in order to win it. My question is, would the Bischoff thing still have happened if I won? Would I have been stripped of the title instead of HHH? Or would I have been able to keep it? Just curious.

Yeah, in that storyline, I wanted to keep my heel status, so I just let Shelton get his ass whupped by Triple H, which led to a cage match between Christian and Shelton. I won, but according to Bischoff, the title could not be defended in a cage on September. *rolls eyes*

Now, if there was a note saying "to play this game, PSP system 2.5 is required, and will be installed if you're not using it" and a note explaining WHY its' required....I'd be happy.

These firmware updates are almost exclusively to defeat PSP piracy and hacking efforts. There is all sorts of homebrew software that you can run on earlier firmware versions (1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and now to some extent, 2.01). Homebrew alone isn't necessarily a bad thing, but what Sony is worried about is ISO loaders and other methods of game pirating. Thus, Sony is continuously putting out new firmwares and asking game manufacturers to make their games require the newest firmware. So, since it's primarily an anti-piracy measure, I doubt you're ever going to get a nice little message from Sony explaining exactly WHY you have to upgrade ("Please upgrade now so that you can't rip us off. Thanks!").

On another note, exactly what firmware version DOES SvR for the PSP require? (Sorry if this has already been stated.)

Getting Jake Roberts by linking PSP & PS2 is worth a rental of the PSP version. PSP is pretty good never the less I mean its a portable good WWE game.

I got it for Christmas. Am I overlooking something, or are subtitles gone? I can't seem to find an option to switch them on in the Options menus.

If I recall correctly, Shem, the subtitle option ought to be on the laptop (or one of the desk items) in your locker room.

SvR2006 comes with firmware upgdate to version 2.5.

Here's a tip: don't upgrade your firmware unless prompted to by a game; I tried the online upgrade, and it ate up most of my 32MB memory stick. After copying my gamesaves to my hard drive, I deleted everything on my memory stick and put the games back on; I gained about 30MB of space that way. And...no problems running any of my games.

I don't know much about the entire homebrew thing, but as soon as a USB keyboard is released for my system, I'm going to consider using my PSP more often for mobile surfing.

But that's the Virgil Runnels amendment, which is clearly a nod to the fact that the situation is a Dusty Finish of sorts.

I can't believe that they got everyone into the studio to record all these lines.

Between Season mode and GM mode, I can easily waste months playing this. Aside from a lack of options for GM mode as compared to EWR, my only real complaint is that you can't book who is going to win a given match. I got letters from Shawn Michaels complaining that he hadn't won in a few weeks, and I'm trying to figure out how to rectify that other than by playing his next few matches to make sure he wins. Its not my fault that for some reason, when I put him against Steven Richards, Steven Richards keeps pulling out the fluke victory.

I also find it funny that you can't decide how many promo segments and how many match segments you want on a given show. Raw would be completely different if the writers were limited to two promos a show.

Turns out it's the earphones on the desk. I didn't even realize they were selectable. Thanks.

My biggest complaint is that I can't use everyone in season mode. I mean, half the fun is taking some lower midcarder (like Jindrak or someone who pretty much will never win the major titles) because their voices weren't recorded. I'd settle for subtitles...but its not cool that I can't take a Basham or Jindrak through the season on my PSP.

The only problem I have with the GM mode is that in order to win the GM award at the end of the year you basically gotta do random booking between your top guys.

For six months I just had a competitive show, with guys trading wins and all that until I noticed my ratings were crap, and the popularity of guys like Eddie and Jericho were down the drain. After that I changed my strategy and jobbed out a bunch of guys week after week while building up others. (using 2 controllers for quickie matches every now and then)
I eventually won, by having some big main event type matches between my 6-8 "top guys"

I loved it though. It was great fun ;)

Well of course. After all, the only way to be the 'best' GM is to book your product just like Vince does it in real life.

Just a note, but I was playing through the season with Carlito, and I got to the Undertaker storyline. I defeated Undertaker (who was under Eddie's control) in a Buried Alive match, and afterwards he beat up Eddie and about when Undertaker put Eddie in a chokeslam, my sister commented "Oh no...don't tell me he's gonna do what I think he's about to do."

Sure enough, 'Taker picks up Eddie and slams him RIGHT into the coffin. My sister and I just sat there dumbfounded for a moment. CONSPIRACY~! Not really, but I found it really ironic.
