Not much difference between him and HHH huh? I was hoping they would let someone else hold the belt for a while too but when EGo and ownership are involved I guess he can hold the belt as long as he wants. Hopefully he will figure out that what is good for his ego might not be good for the company.

I really want to like TNA, but they're pushing a carbon copy of Triple H, and I can't stand it. A carbon copy with a fraction of the talent and drawing ability no less.

The thing is, even Triple H realizes when he's overexposed, and he'll take a break and stay out of the title scene for a few months. Jarrett's constantly in the picture in TNA, and it really does keep me from getitng too into it.

The thing that kills me is that this will probably be the most watched show in TNA history. As a company, when you have a opportunity like this, you want to have new viewers and repeat viewers go away with a good feeling. If a new viewer watches this, they might be impressed by some of the 'lower card' action (Ultimate X, AJ, Joe, Daniels), but the last impression TNA leaves you with is a heel winning the biggest title in the fed. Why, as a new viewer, would you want to come back? Who wants to watch a product where it leaves you pissed off? If they wanted to do the title change, fine, but why not book it for earlier in the night? Have you main be Joe/Styles/Daniels II (with Styles winning). You go home happy and the last impression viewers (new and current) have is "Wow, what a great match. And the good guy won!". Instead, 'smart' fans roll their eyes weary of the same thing (when they are LOOKING for an escape from Ego trip that is Family McMahon) while new viewers think go away with a bad taste in their mouths.

Jarrett is a parody of himself. Rhino wins the title just to lose it back to Jarrett two days later. HA-larious~!

Outside of that, though, the special seems like it will be DAMN good. I can't wait to see it.

For the Jarrett win, I cry, "Bulls***"!

This is obiously coming from a company that keeps knocking the McMahons and Triple H. Triple J fails to realize that he's the pot calling the kettle black.

Part of the problem, I feel, is that the kids in the Impact Zone won't deign to boo anyone but Jarrett.

Instead they're OHHH OOHHHHHing or Bouncing or Hoyting or whatever and JJ ends being the ONLY person on the show who gets ANY palpable negative reaction at all.

Is that justification for putting the belt back on Jarrett? I dunno, but when you've only got one guy who comes off as hated by the crowd, he's gonna be your top heel no matter what.

Man, just when you think they are in tune with what people want to see they do this AGAIN.

To reply to Karlos, they should at least try and create a big heel but they don't do it.
Team Canada gets good heat, but I have no true reason to 'hate' any of them. I have no idea why I am supposed to dislike Abyss or Kip James or Monty Brown (I am not sure if he is a face or a heel anyways)

Might be the wrestlers don't have the skills to pull it off or that they don't tell the right story.

It almost seems like they don't want to give more depth to some of their characters in fear that people will claim they are more focussed on the entertainment than the wrestling.

Oh, I think Team Canada was most hated when Scott D'Amour was constantly running interference against faces people cared about I believe, people wanted to see him get killed.
They lured people in with the whole 'when will he get his upcommance' bit.

Wow. Things like this are part of the reason why, when I forget to watch Impact, I don't get too upset about it.

The fact that Jarrett won the World Title 3 times during the month of May makes me miss WCW.

Not to mention, despite his title wins being only a week apart, it appears he didn't regain the belt from the person who took it from him for any of those title wins.

Makes me wonder...would this same scenario have played out had Nash won on Sunday night as planned? (Or so I've heard.)

Guess that coffee came in a "to go" cup, huh? S**t.

Where have you heard this? Bruce Mitchell is saying the plan was for Tito Ortiz to turn heel and cost Nash the match.

I disagree.

I'd like to see some figures on RAW ratings after PPVs where the heel won. I have a strange feeling that the 'PPV bump' is higher when the heel wins on the big show because I'd imagine the fans wanna see who's in line to take the belt away from the heel.

This said, It DOES seem to be a step backwards having Rhino win the belt for only a week. Maybe they let him win at the PPV just to give the live crowd something to be happy about since the Liger/Joe match wasn't as great as it should have been, the extremly odd ending to the ultimate X match, and Nash not being there. On the note, You could blame ME for saying I hoped Nash didn't break anything on the way to the ring last time I posted about this PPV. Sorry about that.

Other then all this, I'd imagine they want Jarrett to lose the belt to someone with name recognition on a PPV to allow that person to lose it to one of the younger guys like A.J. Styles or Samoa Joe. I'd imagine NWA/TNA World Champion Rhino isn't someone you can build a promotion on... no offense.

Jeff Jarrett is the default 'go to' guy right now because there isn't anyone else at the moment.

It's obvious they done it now to please the crowd, but it might backfire now. Then again, people will have forgotten a week from now that Jarrett ever lost it.

They could have had the main event be a DQ win for Jarrett and then end it on a happy note for the crowd/viewers by having Rhino and the 3D's destroy the heels big time.
