If they turn Show into the monster heel he could be then a match versus Michaels would be a killer drawing card come WrestleMania. I'd certainly be interested in seeing what they could pull off, in terms of both sports-entertainment (New-Era Michaels has been at his absolute best when doing the kind of human drama moments the match would provide) and workrate.

The show itself was a heady mixture of good (mostly) and colossally misguided (you know what). Taboo Tuesday's got a fair amount of intrigue going for it, as well as a decent chance of in-ring value (the main should be a knock-out, and the inter-feud tag looks good). But buyrate-wise they've been behind the eight-ball from day one, thanks to the oversaturation of the market and the day of the week it's taking place on. They really need to stop throwing their weight behind these in-trouble shows just to bump them up to respectable numbers. How much money could they have made off of the Austin return, the Foley match and the Flair/HHH rivalry had they exercised a little restraint?

Without the costume and green hair, Helms looks EXACTLY like Matt from X-Entertainment.Com ...

The JR/Dr. Vince segment went on for an eternity ... And the only thing that remotely made me chuckle was when he pulled the Stone Cold bottle out & the JR soundbyte of "Stone Cold." ...

The line of the night had to be when JBL called Chris Masters a "hairlip orangutan" ... that had me rolling.

After watching Bound For Glory last night, this show REALLY blew.

Even if "verbal debate" legitimately got 99% of the vote, it still would most likely end up being a "cage match". Vince will have the matches he wants no matter what the results are. Just look at the very first Diva competition and see how the voting results were obviously tampered with.

samoflange said it: Carlito did what appeared to be a finisher on Mick Foley outside the ring. The move that looked like Chris Daniels' Last Rites. Not sure if he's done that before, but I hadn't seen it yet. Good choice for him.

Thank GOD. It's a good move he can credibly use on anyone because he's a small guy in a world full of hosses. And his continued uses of the DDT and Downward Spiral would lead up to a head-focused finisher. It's a good choice for him.

Speaking of small guys, and as a real-life Gregory, I hope they do more than corral Helms to Heat. There are a number of bigger names attached to small bodies: Shawn, Carlito, Conway, etc. But I wouldn't have minded him regressing to a flashy Three Count-style villain.

You know your show is lacking when the one of the best bits of the night involves JBL. Him calling out Monkey Boy (great name btw, I hope it sticks), and then having Rey take Edge out and give Lita the 619...good stuff..Him and Rey at Taboo Tuesday? Is this one of those the brand means more than each other being rivals?

Flair was awesome too...other than that, I was just bored with everything. Sick of the McMahon double dose every week, and hell, sick of Foley already. Interested to see what happens with Hurrihelms, but that's about it at this point.

Last night I made the mistake of watching without an hour of buffer on the Tivo -- I was trying to watch Unlimited alongside the show instead. I think from now on I'll stick to the buffer. Last night's show wasn't the worst they've done even in recent times, but it was still yawntastic.

The OR skit just kept going, and going, and going. Oh look, they're pulling different, larger objects out of his ass. If they were trying to one-up the TNA funeral skit, they missed the entire point -- the funeral skit was snarky and self-effacing. It KNEW it was silly and stupid and revelled in that with a variety of setups and jokes that bordered on wrestling fan meta-humor. The OR skit was just the same note beaten into the ground repeatedly. (I will admit 'Mae Young's Other Hand' was funny. But I don't think the WWE realizes WHY it was funny -- because it's referring to ANOTHER stupid, pointless skit. Just like the one we're watching. Not because the original was funny at all.)

As for voting for Taboo Tuesday... as has been noted, uh, there's really no suspense and no choices involved here. Every single one either has a patently obvious outcome (Coach/SC, HHH/Flair) or it doesn't really matter who we pick (tag team, divas). It feels like they almost forgot they had to put this PPV together until the last minute and decided to phone the concept in.

Overall, the crowd goes mild.

Regarding THE SKIT: I was watching it with my roommate (who tends to enjoy his share of crap) and even he was commenting on how the show just jumped the shark with that one. We ended up flipping to Comedy Central until it was finally done. The Mae Young’s hand bit was funny, but everything else... no.

The truly depressing thing is that someone out there was paid way more money than I am to write that sketch.

I was surprised that they actually went with a clear winner to the three-way, but I suppose they want to start pointing fans towards a specific choice already.

I just read on the Observer site that the main event next week on RAW is.....

Cena vs. Michaels.

Hmm.... wonder why not Cena vs Show? Or Cena vs Kane? It's like they are trying to tell us something....

They're telling us Kane/Show will be YOUR new tag champs. Considering their current use, I think this is a fantastic idea. Build up Cade/Murdoch as the wily heels against the big lugs.

Regarding the OR skit: It's strange to say this, but in spite of its obvious over-the-topness, it bored me, in a way. Here's why. Some people found it funny, but I didn't, because its relation to JR's real life situation. But let's face it: JR is the vice president of the company, so he knows full well that they're going to do this. It's hard for me, then, to be offended, which is what the other group of people are, when I know JR was likely cool with the angle. I guess I can be offended by its stupidity, however. Yet, at the same time, I know what the goal of the skit was: To bring up something we already knew: That Vince McMahon, the TV character, is a king-sized insensitive asshole. But since we already knew that, I felt bored. Then again, I felt bored knowing that the McMahons (or most of them) were making their full-time return to TV.

Also, Super Shane Spear is right on the money. I hope Mr. Helms saved his money from the merch he made, because the end very well could be near as far as his stint in Stamford goes.

I shocked that people are surprised at the WWE basically telling the crowd how to vote in regards to Taboo Tuesday. Have you not been watching the company? Individual thought by the crowd is frowned upon. They push guys the crowd doesn't want pushed, and bury guys the crowd is begging to get behind. Of course they're going to "rig" the polls. They did it last year (IIRC), and they'll continue to do it every year they run the PPV. And they'll continue to tell you who you should boo/cheer. For a company that continually says "we listen to our fans", and "we give the fans what they want", they sure spend a lot of time not doing that.

The problem with the hospital sketch was not only that it went too long and was embarrassingly repetitive but that it contained no actual jokes. Vince would pull an owl out of JR's ass, and you were expecting a joke, but instead Vince would say, "Hmmm, this appears to be an owl of some sort -- that's certainly very interesting." Also, I think they were going for SNL humor, but it came off more like porn humor, especially with the presence of Nurse Slobberknocker.

Speaking of Nurse Slobberknocker, I won't comment on Stephanie's breasts, but dear God, how many packs a day is she smoking? I give it five years before she sounds like Doris Grau.

From "The Critic":
Doris: "Everyone has a talent. Look, I can blow smoke rings."
(The smoke forms an evil-looking face)
Smoke: "TICK-TOCK, DORIS."
Doris: "Huh. Never did that before."

Since the move back to USA, it just seems like they are trying to go back to the Attitude Era. Austin, Foley, McMahon, stupid skits, etc.

I may be in the minority but if I wanted any of that I'd toss in my Best of Raw DVD's.

Also, I haven't seen it mentioned here anywhere, so I'll comment. On the Opie and Anthony Show on XM, The Rock was on to promote Doom. In the studio they also had comedian Patrice Oneil who worked for WWE as a writer back in the day. Rock and Patrice talked a bit and Patrice mentioned that Jericho was done, and out in Hollywood. The Rock then confirmed that comment.

On an earlier call in to O & A a few months ago Rock mentioned that the only people he really talks to regularly were Jericho and Angle.

Anyone else heard anything about Jericho? I'd truly hate it if he were in the "show up to put someone over like Rock does category."
