Austin was on tonight. When Steph said she had a proposition, and Austin snuck in "I might have a 20 on me", it really showed how many light years ahead of her he was. It's also quite reassuring to know that he has the clout to be able to say "We're ad-libbing out there" and overrule Stephanie Mc-Fucking-Mahon.

Uh, okay. I know everything Flair does automatically rules especially when it doesn't, but blood-soaked sixty-year-old men punching themselves in the wound and smearing red stuff all over themselves make my clicker finger trigger.

Coach's "GORE" was not screw-up, but him saying "the Big Show is so big" was. Did Cena remind anyone else of DDP on headset?

Onrait didn't mean Razor, he meant THE DIAMOND STUDD.

If Shawn wins the vote, which it seems obvious he will, will he put over Cena? Cuz he should. Since his face re-turn, I must say I can't stand him on near Orton levels now. He's even dropped the cleverness, the "edgy" part. He's lamer than ever now and at least as stale as Triple H.

Wait a minute, Edge will be hitting Smackdown this week because the guy in the truck played JBL's song?

I guess we can forget the old "Wrestlemania is the ONLY place where you can see Raw and Smackdown Superstars competing against one another".

I like Kane, but was he a face when he left? I honestly can't remember.

Oh yes, let's not forget that blurb of the Vince McMahon kiss my ass club. I would like ONE person to argue the point that it was a good idea, or entertaining, or got someone over. I mean, I don't think anyone will defend it, but someone might, as someone might also defend an axe-murderer as "misunderstood". It still stands out as one of the most profoundly idiotic, mean-spirited, self-serving notions that anyone in human history has ever tried to pass off as "entertainment". With the time that has passed, it seems now even more prevalent in its position as a testament to the truly perverted self-image of Vince McMahon, and the continental divide between his thinking and that of comparatively evolved humans. It was historically significant in its unrivalled retardation. Truly, when a bird one day dumps hot white shit into Vince's open mouth, it will be God's delayed reaction to this assfuckery. Heh, I feel like the Warrior, only, I'm right. And no, I don't think I'm exaggerating.

Perhaps WWE is trying to create a reason for people to actually watch Unlimited by having exclusive material that is at least semi-notable by having Hurricane turn heel on Unlimited. Of course, you could just take the cynics' approach and assume it's because Helms is worthless - but that wouldn't give people the pleasure of bitching about something. I suppose I could have just said that without being sarcastic, but that wouldn't have given me the pleasure of bitching about something. Oh well.

Coach was jumping on an opportunity to mock J.R. I even bet he *knows* its not called a spear and just called it a Gore to rip on J.R. It's the same damn move, anyways. It hardly constitutes being "HORRIBLE."

O.K, now for *my* bitching:

So the 3-way match at TT is obviously going to be Angle. vs. Cena vs. HBK. No way either Big Show or Kane is gonna outdo Michaels when it comes to popularity. Both the internet crowd and the casuals alike pop much louder for Shawn. In addition to that, (and more importantly), it annoyed me that they made this a triple threat in the first place. It's hard to feel like the vote makes any difference anyway since the WWE basically got to handpick a safe winner in Angle to win the belt if they wanna get it off Cena without giving the belt to the crowd's favorite. Then Bischoff had to punctuate it by saying "THAT's how you empower the fans!" It was like twisting the sword. I know that WWE isn't really gonna let the fans pick the champ, but at least throw us a bone. (Or at least acknowledge that we aren't idiots.)

Edge continues to be awesome. Keep bringin' the douchebaggery, Edge.

Inoffensive but mostly forgettable RAW.

Yeah, it seems like a pretty lame reason to start fighting, and a pretty weak reason for the whole Raw vs Smackdown thing to continue.

But Matt Hardy makes his debut on the Peep Show on the next SD!, so I'm assuming some Edge-Christian-Matt situations will occur.

Maybe they're gonna have a final Matt vs Edge match at Survivor Series and let Matt get some heat back.

I found a link to all the Unlimited footage. At the time of the Hurricane unmasking I hadn't been watching Unlimited, though rest assured I will now.

I know Hurricane's been made insignificant recently, but... holy shit, dude.

[kayfabe]

The heck of it is, you can't blame Hurricane for what he did. He got the hell beaten out of him for at least five minutes without Rosey anywhere to be seen. It was only when Angle left that Rosey showed up to help Hurricane up. Hell, I even mentioned in the recap, "Where the fuck's Rosey?"

That, plus the fact that Hurricane's been on a hell of a losing streak recently-- even as a tag-team champion, he wasn't able to get any wins-- and it's no wonder he's had enough of it.

[/kayfabe]

And if this means WWE goes in a new direction with the Hurricane character (which I love, but clearly it's gotten stale), that works for me, too.

On another subject-- wow, didn't take them long to bring Matt Hardy back. And on the Peep Show? So, for the purposes of this angle, is Christian Edge's brother or not? Suckas gots to know.

I can understand the Hurricane character. I'm more surprised Rosey stuck it for so long.

He'd be best returning to something on the lines of his 3 Minute Warning character. Hurrican vs Rosey would be somewhat of a dead end feud.

During Raw, they aired a commercial here in Michigan for Survivor Series (which will be at Joe Louis Arena). I'm sure the card is "subject to change" but here's what they announced:

Batista vs. Guerrero for World Hvywt. Title

Cena vs. Angle for WWE title

HBK and RAW team vs. JBL and Smackdown team

Eric Bischoff vs. Teddy Long

Most of these are - I'm sure - expected, but that last one is kinda goofy, eh?

They teased a heel turn for him about a year ago, but dropped it after 2 weeks. We'll see how long this 1 lasts.

Everyone knows I've been calling for a change in direction for Helms for a long time now.

I can understand the Hurricane character. I'm more surprised Rosey stuck it for so long.

What else was Rosey going to do? It was either stick w/ the superhero gimmick, or be on TV even less than he is now. Not to mention he's more over w/ this gimmick than he's ever been in the company.

That Coach-Austin match is a joke on so many levels. We all know WWE wanted JR out as lead man on RAW. And of course Stephanie said if Austin wins JR would be re-hired. She never said as lead man on RAW. JR had been slated to be the Unlimited announcer since this whole thing started. And the Austin beat down of Coach allows the WWE time to find a new lead announcer (since that Goldberg guy from UFC turned them down). My God. What saps they take us for. Oh, and is Bishoff a face now that his boss, Vince is a heel?

Carlito's lack of a finisher -- unless you count The Cheat (chair, ropes, etc.) -- still bothers me, but I was heartened to see a Complete Shot/Downward Spiral/WMD from him last night. Since no one else is using it in the WWE, why not that move? Call it The Bad Apple.

The Lovely Mrs. Tracker was shocked, shocked, I say, by the girth of one Mick Foley.

I had hopes that a returning Kane would offer a new look or attitude, but nope, they're still using him to chase the angry, metal-loving tormented teen pyromaniac demographic. Who else would love to see him go the Viscera route, complete with smoking jacket, ascot and faux playmates, and call himself Big Daddy Kane? I'd buy that Shopzone-exclusive teddy bear!

Was Eric actually shown to be the most together guy in the confrontation with Vince? Has that ever happened before?

Flair, well, Flair is teh awzom!1!1!!1. Great image of him lathering himself in blood and saying he's not afraid of Hunter. I have no hopes for their match, however.

I thought the "kiss my ass" club was entirely set-up to turn UT heel. Remember the night in Oklahoma when JR got the crap beat out of him because UT felt that JR was above kissing Vince's ass like everyone else has done? Though I didn't like the build-up, what came out of it was pretty good, IMO. Atleast it gave us the UT/RVD hardcore match at Vengence that year.

Regarding Flair, I've been watching pro wrestling for a fairly long time... and I've NEVER seen someone sell an interview quite like that. And when you consider that Raw has probably averaged about three interview segments during each show -- over the past 7-or-so years -- 52 times each year -- coming up with an original way to express one's self is pretty impressive.

Coach? Hard to tell if he was intentionally doing a bad job to sell his character, but for me, he flat-out wasn't interesting or entertaining. Neither was Lawler. (And neither was JR before he got "fired" but I suspect he'll be back in the broadcast seat following the next PPV.)

I thought John Cena was exposed as having a PAINFULLY slow mind and wit during the battle royal. What really helped getting Rock & Stone Cold over was the fact that they could think on their feet; Cena just isn't in their league...

So... who was under the Hurricane mask????

You know... I understand why they'd do this on the website; to get more people to watch. But to not even mention it afterwards? Geez... surprising heel turns are so rare these days, you could have at least made a big deal out of this one.

Hilarious!!
Preach on!!

I enjoy the interactions with Austin and Stephanie way more than Austin and Vince. I thought "I might have a 20 on me" was a super-quick ad-lib. Did it seem like she was the same height as Austin? Maybe she had heels. Steph has one of the best evil looks in wrestling. She is bizarrely annoying and entertaining at the same time.
When are the gonna learn that people like me don't watch for the scripted stuff, but for when they give people like Austin and HBK freedom on the mic. HBK vs. Montreal fans has been the highlight of 2005 WWE programming for me. It's live, it's real, it's fun....

Maybe it's to gauge reaction. If the turn goes over well, they continue it and push it well, and the next week tell people they could have seen it if they went to the website. If not, they bury it. This seems to have been the case with his heelish turn last year. But now they don't have to use up airtime to probe the paying audience response.

Yeah....that was one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen, and definitely not in a good way.

I actually think maybe that the Flair blood-letting scene wasn't planned. The wound seemed to start bleeding under the bandage before Ric even pulled the bandage off. Then when Ric tore the bandage off (possibly just to show the audience the ugly wound), that's when it really began to start bleeding on its own before Ric even started hitting it. Flair, sensing the trickling blood and that his forehead was about to start gushing blood all over his face during his promo, he decided to start smacking his wound and playing up the unexpected scenario for the audience.

But if that whole gruesome scene was actually completely planned out, then I am really surprised that they would do something that was so uncomfortable and disturbing to watch. They might as well just had Ric Flair come out and declare to everyone that there isn't anything that Triple-H could do to scare or hurt him as the camera would zoom up on Flair's face and he would slowly run a box cutter across his forehead from one end to the other.

The one difference between Steph v Austin and Vince v Austin in a verbal showdown is that Vince is much better at selling Austin's commentary. Part of what made the interatcion between the two so great at the start (and Vince has always carried a little piece of this with whomever he was in a feud with) was the visceral reaction on McMahon's face that said. "You're talking to ME, Vince McMahon, that way...just who the hell do you think you are?", and I didn't really get that vibe out of Steph at all. It was more "Ah ha, you got me there! Now let me try to move forward to what I'm supposed to be saying...".

I'm not saying it was a deliberate no-sell, but as stated by others, she seemed more concerned with hitting the bulletpoints rather than trying to roll with the punches and verbally spar, which is why they both committed the goof-up of both speaking at the same time.

Linda 3;16 says, "I just broke your colon."

Maybe its the return to USA or the lack of quality shows on other networks Monday night, but I'm starting to like Raw again.

(I also kinda liked the KMA club, so what do I know.)
