Three reasons:

1. Never developed a taste for beer
2. My wife's father had many a scary drunken episode in her childhood, so she shys away from places/parties where alcohol is served.
3. You'd be amazed at how much money you've got hen you don't smoke or drink (I supported both of us for three years making $7.50/hr, and we never really wanted for anything.)

Did enough of it when I was in the Army, made a commitment to follow Jesus and don'twant to cloudmy mind or set a bad example to the kids I mentor and witness to.

So I don't- as a rule. But I wouldn't say I am absolute. In the right social situation, I might have a drink or drink a beer. I'd say my last one was a couple years ago now.

Why do I drink? For fun, mostly...to loosen up, to lose an edge...but I never, ever drink to get drunk.

Karaoke is much more enjoyable when a buzz is in place.

Never really developed a taste for beer or alcohol and neither did my wife. She'll drink a glass of wine every couple months, but I think it's all pretty gross.

Plus, we're more fun when we're sober anyway.

I drink quite often. Not as much as I did when I first got to college, but probably still more than the average person who is not in college.

1. I enjoy the taste of pretty much all beers except for pale ales. I have a home brewing kit, and usually drink a beer or two everyday.
2. I love scotch. Scotch scotch scotch.
3. I like cheap wine. Carlo Rossi, 11 bucks for 4 liters.
4. I like being inebriated with friends.
5. I don't like being hungover.

Numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 far outweigh number 5. Especially since number 5 can be fixed with some Excedrin, V8 juice, and a trip to the diner.

The only time I got drunk (and the only time I drank) was on my 21st birthday.....I don't drink because (a) I don't like the taste of anything alcohol (I'd rather have soda); and (b) I don't see anything fun in getting drunk.

Now I have all this alcohol at my house that I got for my 21st birthday....It'll probably take me about a year to drink it all.

A. Whenever work, women or life gets me down, the bottle is my trusty friend.
B. I'm pretty introverted, I can't perform in a social setting without booze. A few shots and I light up like a christmas tree.

The smell of beer actually does turn my stomach. Wine isn't as bad, but what little I've had did nothing for me. I never developed any sort of interest in it and I'm even not terribly thrilled with going to the liquor store down the street to pick up the occasional something for my mother-in-law.

My wife does enjoy the occasional plum wine, though.

I drink because I like to. I'm pretty much a beer drinker only, save for the occasional Tequila drink (margarittas and sunrises). I can't stomach hard liquor, as too much of it makes me violently ill.

When you have a SHITTY BORING MONOTONOUS job, you'll be amazed at how a couple of beers will help you resist the urge to murder everyone in your vicinity. In all seriousness, I just enjoy a beer or two, or three, or...and so on and so forth.

Not a lot of people know this, but you CAN drink a drink, NOT get drunk, and actually ENJOY the taste of it. No, really! It's true.

I've always been amused/disturbed by the "I dont want to be a DRUNK" comments by those who drink. You can have a beer, or a mixed drink, and NOT act like an ass, and NOT have it take over your life.

BTW, I like a beer every now and again.

I don't drink beer. My parents never did either, and that was one of the things I never revolted against as a teenager (their religion however, was a different story). My mom just couldn't hold her alcohol (she started to feel warm after 1 wine cooler!), and my dad didn't like the taste of beer, though he did like the occasional wine or Dr. McGillicudy's. Plus they both are voluntary first responders for the small town where they live, so if they drink at all, so if they've been drinking that night, they won't be able to go out on any calls that may happen.

I don't really go out socially much, but when I do, I'll drink a few mixed drinks. Something where you can't taste the alcohol. But even though I drink like a fish (finish drinks when other people are only like halfway done), I don't think I've been drunk. Maybe buzzed a little, but not drunk.

I don't drink, mostly because I'm underage, but also because I don't see the point in it. I have a good times with my friends without drinking, so it seems pointless.

"I think the whole world's going insane, I fill my brain up with liquor, and drink away the pain."

Once that line started making sense to me, I decided to cut out the booze for a little while. It's a shame though, as I really like beer.

Also, every time I visit my family I learn someone else is a drunk (why'd Grandma insist that I pick her up two liters of Vodka?), so I guess I've got to be somewhat careful.

I drink socially as my job is Brand Manager for a wine & spirit importer.
Lately I've been having a glass of wine every day with dinner, and I have to say I feel much better lately as a result.

Back in the days these things begin (like HS and college) I never had friends who drank, so I never got in the habit. Never have had a reason to now, along with the fact that A.) I don't think I'd much like the taste, and 2.) I have no desire to lose my inhibitions.

My friends and co-workers now find out I don't drink and just accept it, and never pressure; none of them are exactly grand lushes. Having a girlfriend that never drinks either helps matters.
