Missed all the promos, website information huh? If you were that interested then you would know what time it was on.

It is on same time WWE Velocity was on at 11pm Saturday nights. It's all repeated Monday night/Tuesday morning at midnight.

LOL. Well when you put it that way ...
No, to tell the truth I don't like squash matches at all. Thankfully I was never part of the wrestling where they'd have nothing but squashes on regular TV. I think a back-and-forth hard fought match can raise the stocks of both performers better than a squash can raise the stock of the winner.

I really enjoyed the show. They did a lot for just having one hour.

The only that looked "hokey" to me was the whole backstage thing with Raven.

Re: The Pounce.

Yeah, that's a move that really depends on the guy taking it. Sometime the guy'll just get folded in half sideways and crash across the ring and it looks AWESOME. Other times the guy'll be all "I guess I fall down now!" and it looks like shit.

Re: The X Division.

I kinda wish Tenay hadn't referenced the cruiserweights when talking up the Xers, since a) that puts the idea of weight limits right into people's heads, and b) "cruiserweight" is just another name for slaughter fodder these days. The problem, of course, is you can't really say, "the X Division is for wrestlers who aren't crappy!"

Re: Don West.

I liike him okay. I wouldn't complain if he and, say, Shane Douglas switched places, but West is doing pretty good. One thing he does well is covering when something doesn't go quite right. "Oh, he just grazed him! If he had caught all of that, this match would be over!"

Other than Raven backstage, I thought the show was great...up until Jarrett came out, which led to Konnan, Killings, and whatever the hell they're calling the Roadie these days. That just killed me. Of course, at least they made it easy for me to ignore by putting everybody I don't want to see in TNA into one segment. Well, almost everybody. I'm hoping they really limit Zbysko because I can't stand the guy. Only good thing I can say about him is at least he isn't Dusty Rhodes...

If Shane Douglas has 100 times the mic skills of most backstage reporters, why is he so embarrassingly unconvincing saying: "I'm hearing there's an altercation backstage! Can we get a camera back there?"

Maybe because that wasn't the ONLY segment of Shane's career.

It took me about three or four of weeks worth of the original PPVs to really notice Don West and even then, it was this site that told me where I'd seen him before.

I used to get really drunk watching him shill sports cards packages and whatever else they were selling late nights on SHOP AT HOME. I had a drinking game all to myself for him. The best was when he was shilling crap he had no idea about, like one time they had MAGIC THE GATHERING card lots on really cheap and he just went on and on talking about them, but not REALLY talking about them; you know? Anyways, I got really drunk with THAT one.

He does fine. He's good as an 'average joe' type announcer in that he may not know much about wrestling, but he sure makes matches seem better then they are with his plain speak.

Kevin Nash looked healthy... let's hope he doesn't break anything before the PPV.

Someone needs to tell Shane Douglas that he is no longer a wrestler doing promos behind the microphone.....he is an interviewer now.

I caught the replay and was impressed with the improvement in the production over the FSN show. Since this is a new audience, you kind of have to expect alot of exposition and those promos on the X Division, Monty, etc are a very good thing. I was a little suprised seeing the Bound for Glory promo and actually seeing the voiceover guy.

Anyway, with the exception of the Monty match, everything I saw delivered. It certainly felt faster paced both in the matches and the segments themselves than your average WWE show. They've got a lot to squeeze into one hour, but I think they'll be seeing a second hour of new programming a week in a few months.

Great effort by TNA on this one!

Hadn't watched TNA in forever.

Great opening video package.
The announcing was wayyyyy over the top. Tenay and West sounded like Joey Style and Tony Schiavone had a baby that grew up addicted to speed.

AJ Styles is amazing. Good showcase for him. A squash match, but with a hour show you gotta fit people in.

Wasn't impressed by Brown. His promo abilities seem suspect and he seems like just another football player turned wrestler. How's he in real matches?

The three-way was fun, even if they basically no-sold everything. I dunno, it seems like the X division guys just slaughter themselves week in and week out. I just dislike that style of wrestling. It's car-crash wrestling. Oh, and that was my first time seeing the 'Canadian Destroyer' and it utterly exposes the business worse than just about any finishing move ever. Impressive yes, but just no.

Zbysko doesn't exactly strike me as an authority figure. That's another thing I hate about wrestling. Fans don't need to see a matchmaker. It gets annoying when it's Vince McMahon on your TV, let alone when it's a washed up wrestler in an ugly shirt.

Jarret v. Rhino would have bored us on Raw and it bored me here. The Monter's Ball concept is stupid.

Jarrett is Jarrett and I like AMW. Good way to end the show. Nash looks better with long hair.

TNA is TNA, a lot of good stuff with a lot of stuff I don't care about.

It was a fun show, and I'm a TNA mark so I had a good time. The three-way was a very good match.

The best thing about it, from a business point of view: the show looked terrific. I'm not sure exactly what it was, but the FSN show always looked kind of dingy and poorly lit. This didn't.

The worst thing: They spent too much time and focus on the PPV. Look, I understand, that's what drives the business financially. But this was your very first opportunity to get a lot of people to see you. Before they can buy your PPV, they first have to care about your show, and there were times when the hype got in the way of that.

Also, they really shouldn't have done a commercial break during the 3-way. When they're more established, do that, sure. But that was the best opportunity in the show to turn a random dial flipper who was looking for Velocity or recovering from Raw into a fan, and giving them a commercial break to escape makes no sense.

Hopefully future shows will be a bit slower-paced, to let the big moments stand out more. Also, hopefully they will do a bit less of the squashes. People have come to expect more.

I hope it will do well. TNA has its flaws, but it's well worth watching.

Two funny things while watching the show finally tonight with others:

When Tito showed up backstage, the people who were watching with me reacted with "Who's that? Is he a wrestler?" Then, once they finally gave his name, the reaction was "Who's that? Is he a wrestler?" Not everyone watches UFC, I'll put it that way.

The other funny comment was from my wife, who liked the show because it "looked like it was filmed in someone's garage with some cameras they stole." After all the talk of how much better the show looks now, I would hate to think of what my wife would have thought of the earlier version of the show!

Overall, I thought the show was okay. Will I come back to watch next week? If I remember to set up the recorder. Have to say that the first week didn't make me feel I HAD to see what they did the second. Perhaps they would have been better off with just three or four straight matches with no run-ins and simple storytelling to explain to newcomers who the guys in the ring are and why we should care. As it was, half the show felt like filler to eat up time and the other half felt like they couldn't be bothered to explain to newcomers who these "important" people in the ring were.

Maybe it'll get better, though.
