"From WWE.com:

Monday Night RAW isn't the only WWE show that is moving.

Starting next weekend, both HEAT and Velocity will now be available to watch on WWE.com.

So be sure to log onto WWE.com next Friday afternoon to watch the inaugural edition of HEAT on the Internet. Then watch Velocity on Saturday morning, starting at 10 a.m. ET."

I can't say enough about how much a good move this is by WWE. Does this mean they're going to be taping THREE shows on Mondays now (Raw, Heat, AM Raw)?

I'm pretty sure AM Raw is just going to be a recap show with highlights from Raw and no new matches.

Seems kinda strange that they'd rather stick a recap show on when they could just as easily put Heat into the timeslot since they're still going to be producing it.

Well, if TNA can run iMPACT on there website until they got a TV deal, then the WWE has figured out what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

The people I really feel bad for is the cruiserweights who are never on Smackdown and never on PPV.

thecubsfan is on vacation/assignment, but he made sure to break that news here on September 2 for all of us, I guess since he knew he'd be away when it was officially announced.

Yeah maybe! This is trly his most impressive prescience since he invented the Essa Rios & Lita gimmick with Maria Felipe.

On the other hand, this really kind of negates my End of Heat commemorative efforts.

Personally, I am happy about this because I can't catch Heat and Velocity. From what I read in the past few months, Velocity seems like a good show. I am looking forward to watching it on wwe.com.

What appears to have been overlooked (again) is that Heat and Velocity are still airing in some countries that aren't the US. For instance, you can still see Heat and Velocity in next weekend's schedules over at the websites for Sky Sports 3 (sky.com) in the UK and also FOX 8 (foxtel.com.au) in Australia. Hell, in the UK you can still see "Afterburn" and "The Bottom Line" - God knows WHY you'd want to, but you COULD.

Which makes you wonder how far away are the next series of cuts. They are not going to continue to pay people just to run an internet show.

Not to say that there won't be cuts, but as CRZ said, the shows will still air in international markets to fulfill existing contracts, so they have an actual reason to exist beyond trying to boost web traffic.

Although the internet is available to many people there's still going to be a drop-off of viewers who don't have the internet, don't want to bother to watch online, or have difficulties downloading online programming for one reason or another.

Saying that, I wonder if there would be a place for a series of DVDs or television specials out of all this? How much actual new programming (i.e. wrestling matches and storyline developments) occuring between the two shows combined? Maybe 30-40 minutes a week, tops?

I could easily see a BEST OF VELOCITY or BEST OF HEAT DVDs down the line. Yeah, yeah, I know we're not talking the A or even B-shows here, but there's usually something worth checking out on the programs every so often, and with the ability to give people programing they hadn't seen if they don't watch on the internet, a cheap DVD package wouldn't be that hard of a sell.

Just a thought.

They still have scheduled to do Velocity and Heat for international markets, but I doubt there was anything saying they still had to do matches for those shows.

They were always going to do one or two matches before the taping to try things out before a live crowd and warm them up, but I don't think they'd bother with much post production if they weren't going to do it on .com. I could be wrong.

Best of Velocity/Heat DVDs are incredibly unlikely from a company that's not doing Best of RAW/SmackDown! However, before the .com versions of the shows were announced, the plan was to use the pre-RAW/SmackDown! dark matches as bonus features for PPV DVDs, and I expect they'll still try that.

I bet more people in their target demographic will watch it on the internet than would be up early on a Saturday morning.

Why don't they start running these on WWE 24/7? Seems like a logical choice once they have enough systems signed up.

Far more people would have access to the WWE website than subscribe to cable services that include WWE 24/7. Unless you're saying why not ALSO put them on WWE 24/7, in which case I would say that with what's being offered, they would seem a bit out of place.

Like it was stated earlier I feel bad for the great cruiserweights on the roster, but this has very little impact to the overall scope of things.

So, anybody check on the shows yet? They have it set up so you pick individual matches/segments to watch, instead of having to watch the entire show from start to finish. I prefer it that way, 'cuz no way in hell I'm sitting through a Tomko match.
