| #1 Posted on 20.9.05 0840.59 Reposted on: 20.9.12 0841.23 | Ok, now it's my first post (and perhaps my only one ever) in the Music forum. Possibly because I listen to a lot of music that is not popular..
But anyway - Cowboy Troy - anyone listen to him? I cause Cowboy Troy singing with Big and Rich on Las Vegas last night and was absolutely facinated at the sound of a country rapper.
I mean, as a rule, beyong Johnny Cash and Earl and Scruggs "Foggy Mountain Breakdown", I normally hate country music.
But this was, how do I say it? Fantastic.

But yeah, Cowboy Troy's music is really off the hook. I can't get enough of his stuff. In fact, Big & Rich is really fun, as well. | The Goon

When I heard "I Play Chicken With the Train" on my local country station, I was confused as to their rationale for playing it. Dance music, hip-hop, sure. Unless he's got a heart-wrenching ballad somewhere on Loco Motion, I can't hear anything country about him.
I have no doubt the guy is talented, though. His interlude on "Rollin(The Ballad of Big & Rich)" is fun to listen to. But he'll be no more than a Trivial Pursuit answer within a couple of years. | bash91

Amen, with the caveat that I still don't like (The W) Big & Rich. I just can't see Cowboy Troy as anything more than a passing fad.

Maybe a fad (so was The Knack - but I still like "My Sharona" | OlFuzzyBastard

I could give a damn if he sustains lasting popularity - one look at those iTunes Top Download posts should be enough to make you realize that popularity and quality are almost diametrically opposed - his is the first country album I've even considered buying from someone under 60 ever. | Oliver

That track really shows off his range and his tempo: It's easily the best track on Locomotive.
