I knew someone would jump on the $30 thing.

My point is (was), is that at E3, Nintendo said that you would be able to play every game in the Nintendo catalog on your Revolution. And that the controller design would have to reflect that. This controller seemingly isn't the controller they were seemingly referring to.

Now, it's "well, you can use your GameCube controller", or "they'll have add-ons for you to buy", which goes against everything Nintendo said at E3. Now, you're expected to spend more money for features promised to be packed in. Granted, those comments are all message board speculation at this point, but still.

The only thing I can see right now is that you can turn the remote sideways and have a NES controller, but there's not enough buttons for the SNES or the Nintendo 64.

The guy from Fark evidently never had an Atari 5200.

Sorry for taking your $30 comment so literally.

I can see what you're complaining about, but lets wait for the pricing info. Apparently what Nintendo meant by "the controller design will reflect that" meant that it had a port for plugging in various dongles to suit the game required. It looks like the Nunchaku dongle should allow for GCN compatibility, and I hope that is included with the console/controller and not an extra purchase.

I think the problem with this is that either you see how it can completely change everything and you completely love it, or you remember past attempts (the power glove comparisons are getting annoying) and expect it will fail just like them and you hate it out of disappointment. The one thing that's amazing is that so many people are interested in this enough to either love it or hate it. You can't be so polarizing without generating buzz. I think that as we find out more, and we get to see it in action, most of the naysayers will have their fears relieved. (Of course, I say that as one of the people who love this idea.) At the very least, this just made the next gen console wars that much more interesting.

Using the remote control reminded of playing Motocross Madness on the PC with a motion-sensitive Microsoft controller, while the look of the analog add-on reminded me of either Colecovision or the Atari 2600's ping-pong controllers.

Will we be able to quickly reorient the controller if we decide to move, change positions, etc? I mean, it looks exciting the way it's played in the video- sitting up, eyes glued to the screen. But if you can relax playing a fishing game while laid out on the couch, the more the better. (edit: closer look at the video seems to suggest no problems.)

Will the "nunchuk" design allow for right-handed analog control?

Will force-feedback ever figure into the controls?

The design is beautifully simple, though I still hope there'll be a place for the multi-buttoned Sony Dualshocks and arcade sticks of the past. For some reason I can't see this working well with fighting games.

If the Revolution is backwards compatable with the GC controller, then I don't need anything else. The 'cube's controller is the most confortable controller I've ever owned.

I admit, I'd really like to see if the system will be compatible with older game boy titles. That would have me sold...since i have no intention of buying a GC, but this one has caught my attention so far.

Next thing will be the price, of course.
