| #1 Posted on 13.9.05 1823.05 Reposted on: 13.9.12 1823.08 | This is a long one, so I'll start it off with a little sadomasochism...
Everyone's FAVORITE video game to film director, Uwe Boll, gets three... yes THREE new directing jobs. Hunter: The Reckoning, Fear Effect, and Far Cry; Surprisingly, they're ALL based on video games. (Will the horror EVER end?)
Ralph Bakshi return to theaters (I hope) with a new film called The Last Days Of Coney Island. It's about an aging NYPD officer who patrols Coney Island. Great to see him still doing films.
One of my all time favorite horror films is getting remade, THE OMEN. Liev Schreiber and Julia Stiles is starring so it might not be all THAT bad.
Another one of my all time favorite horror films is getting a sequel, Bloodsucking Freaks. It'll be straight to DVD/Video for this one, I'm afraid.
Another week, another SPIDER-MAN 3 villains rumor. NOW it's being said that Hayden-Church is playing Sandman, James Franco will take on the Hobgoblin costume, and (HOPEFULLY NOT!)Topher Grace is going to be Venom. I think I'm giving up on the Spidey 3 stuff until it's set in stone or on the screen.
Live Freaky! Die Freaky! (livefreakydiefreaky.com) looks like something the SOUTH PARK creators would love to do. While I'd probably pass on seeing this, look at who alls doing voices for this. Who'd ever thought that the singer from Rancid would be in a movie? Billie Joe from Green Day also does a voice!
STAR TREK: THE BEGINNING is the working title of the next big screen Trek film. The script is completed and is awaiting the green light. It takes place after ENTERPRISE but before the Kirk and Spock era, so it'll probably suck.
30 DAYS OF NIGHT gets a director... and it's NOT Uwe Boll! It's David Slade... who did a few music videos. (Ugh!)
Steve Carell gets even MORE love! He'll be starring in EVAN ALMIGHTY, a sequel to BRUCE ALMIGHTY. He'll be building an ark and waiting for the flood, like Noah.
SCREAM 4 is getting made without Wes Craven being involved. Neve Campbell is starring.
SIN CITY is getting two sequels. They begin filming in February.
...and to finish this off, here's a list of sequels or remakes that some of you might want to see and some of you probably don't really care all that much about.
28 Weeks Later (28 Days Later sequel) (2007) The 39 Steps (2006) The Aristocats 2 (2007) Bambi 2 (2006) Bean 2 (November 2006) Black Christmas (2006) The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) The Butterfly Effect 2 (Why?) (2007) Cinderella 3 (2007) Hairspray (Movie based on the musical, based on the film by John Waters! OH BOY!) (2007) Land Of The Lost (2007) The Mechanic (1972 Charles Bronson film) (2007) Old School 2 (2007) The Santa Clause 3 (2006) Scary Movie 4 (2006) The Shaggy Dog (2006) Shrek 3 (2007) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Live action AGAIN!) (2007) The Little Mermaid (2008) To Live And Die In LA (2006) Toy Story 3 (2008) Under Siege 3 (2007) Undisputed 2 (2006)
-----
More later!

Scream 4 will probably suck, especially without Craven, but I'll still probably give it a try. Even if it's terrible, I can just stare at Neve Campbell for an hour and a half. And, I want more Dewey (he didn't die in the third one, did he? I don't remember. And yet I consider myself a horror movie buff. Sad). | Gugs

On the subject of Spidey 3, I read somewhere (I can't for the life of me remember where) that Topher Grace was having to add some bulk to his frame for his role in the movie. Of course, he probably only weighs 90 lbs soaking wet. | Big Bad

| #8 Posted on 14.9.05 1128.11 Reposted on: 14.9.12 1128.12 | I'm a little torn on Hobgoblin instead of Green Goblin in Spiderman 3. Unless the Norman's making an appearance, why not let Harry pick up the monicker like in the comic? It'd freak Spidey out more seeing the original more than a knockoff. Sandman should be fun in CGI. Venom... well, there's such a thing as overkill. Look at how Bane, who should have been a major player in the Batman movies, just got tossed in there with Ivy and Freeze? That, and the symbiote is going to require a little too much explaining, I'd think.
Anyway, I'm probably the only one (besides the people making it, I guess) that thinks a new TMNT movie could really be fun. I loved the 1st and 3rd ones from the previous live actions. Gimme a ruthless Shredder and that should keep the Turtles themselves from going too off-the-wall goofy.

Why are they making a second MR. BEAN movie? Who really wants that? The first movie was terrible.
Scary Movie 3 was really good; I hope the same people are working on number four.
I'm guessing Bambi 2, Cinderella 3 and Toy Story 3 will be direct to video efforts for Disney. Especially if the rumours are true and most of the voice talent in TS are abandoning the project if it's not produced by Pixar.
Who's slated to direct Spider Man 3? I think it's gonna suck; especially if they require more than one bad guy. Come on...three? | Roy.

Under Siege 2: Dark Territory. It's one of those movies I'll watch every time it's on TV (and it's on a LOT). Eric Bogosian is the main bad guy, and Stephen Segal just happens to be on the train he hijacks. And then he uses a satellite to make earthquakes at a Chinese chemical weapons lab and shoot down stealth bombers. Oh, and he'll shoot his earthquake ray onto the Pentagon (or White House, maybe), that secretly has a nuclear reactor in the basement, so like the entire east coast will be wiped out.

Raimi again. I think the villian rumors are just wild speculation. And I thought Raimi has talked of his hatred for the Venom character in the past. I trust in all things Raimi, though, so I can't imagine he'll screw it up too much.

Scream 4, ridiculousness.
I guess its cool that Sin City getting sequels. However I heard they are making a story specifically for Jessica Alba's Nancy. I think that's a bad idea considering that she was the worst part about the first movie.
