We’ll need to see if this is the end of the feud. Taker’s still more valuable as a guy who’s seen as a threat, as the hard-to-hurt Dead Man, and can still get strong wins. The logic being that anyone who is able to hang with him, pull out a win, or even come close to winning, is obviously also a top-tier contender. And the fact is, a lot of fans still like Taker and want to see him win.

Besides, it’s not like win-loss record means a damn thing in the WWE, compared to exposure and how strong you’re allowed to look. Eddie’s lost almost every match he’s had with Rey since Mania. But that didn’t mean a thing. He still looked strong, he was still in high-profile matches, and now he’s #1 Contender to Batista.

Okay... what??? How'd that happen? Is Brian Lee back with the company or something?

I think they had an effigy(sp?) of Taker, much in the same way Taker had an effigy of Diesel in a casket during their Wrestlemania feud.

Same thing for Mic Foley. But Mic Foley still did the clean jobs. And so did guys like The Rock on the same token.

Eddie had already beaten Rey before on numerous occassions though, not just WCW but also in WWE as early as 2004.

If you look from when the Taker is in the casket, it seems to be a pre-filmed shot of him in it. It is then edited into the scene. You never see the casket fully open.

I don't think it was an effergy, looked too real !

I have to agree with Phantom on this one, Vile1-
The Rock and Mick Foley cant be counted the same as Taker, cause they're gone... and he's not. No matter how much they job, stars of their level will always have heat when they return from a long absence- if Undertaker is sticking around, he cant be jobbing to "guys like Orton" cause then, as Phantom explained- it takes away from how the WWE uses him (effectively, believe it or not).

I think Taker made Orton look very strong in that match, maybe as strong as Orton can look without getting the win.
