For my birthday (this past Saturday) I went to McDonalds for breakfast, read the newspaper, finally beat ENTER THE MATRIX (terrible ending, by the way), and in the evening I went to Karaoke.

How did everyone else spend their birthdays?

Mrs. Freeze took me to Red Lobster. Good stuff.

Then our friends took us to this BBQ place where they served the tallest stack of ribs & other assorted meats I have ever seen piled onto one plate.

I was sick with pneumonia on my latest birthday (my 40th), so I got to listen to many jokes about my body breaking down. On the bright side, my kids got me baseball cards (I have collected them since I was a kid), and my son pulled out an autographed Miguel Cabrera card...

Went to Coney Island and rode the Cyclone. Ate a hot dog and drank beer. Then I tracked down the package my parents had sent me (a coleman stove) and had to carry it on the subway so I could catch my friend's improv troupe. Then I ate pizza and drank more beer.

I stayed in my house and watched the final round of The Masters in HD, by myself. People know better than to call me during any of the majors.

Well, on Sunday I had dinner at TGIFridays (god, that Jack Daniels Grill is the greatest thing to ever happen to food). Tomorrow, on my actual birthday, I'm just planning on hanging out with some friends.

Yes, I lead the crazy life.

I went in played in a poker tournament at the dog track and got 4th place. Must of had some kind of bday luck because that was only the third time I've ever finished in the money. Other times being 3rd and 9th place.

Then I went out to dinner with the family and to a Devil Rays game which we won 1-0. Pretty good game with a sweet catch in center field by Gathright that got top play on Sports Center.

Finally went out with the boys drankin and chasin women....nope, not a bad day at all.

My birthday this year was the best birthday I've had in my life.

Wednesday (my actual birthday) I went out to eat with my family at La Fiesta (one of my favorite restaurants). Then Thursday I took my girlfriend (now my ex-girlfriend) out to dinner at Olive Garden (my other favorite restaurant), and Saturday my two best friends threw me the surprise party I'd wanted my whole life.

Also, every year I order WrestleMania and watch that as part of my birthday celebration. So that was cool, too.

For my birthday I gather up all of my friends and have a video scavenger hunt with 75 things and 10 bonus items. The bonuses range from hard (find my grandmother's house, ring the doorbell and run) to disgusting (jump into a duck infested lake that is vile). Everyone gets into the spirit of it all, and people have a lot of fun.

So, we did that, then I went out to karaoke on the day of my actual birthday and I sang "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" by the Darkness. Oh yeah.

For 18 I split a six-pack of Heineken with my brother (to celebrate Alberta's wonderful drinking age) and went to my aunt & uncle's house for steak & lobster.

For 19 I went to a pub with a bunch of friends while wearing a silly hat. Free booze!

For 20...I'll let you know.

Mine was this past Monday (the 12th), and it was actually pretty memorable.

I walked into the office at 8 and saw a friend of mine who used to work with us years ago. I've kept in touch, but many of my other co-workers haven't. Anyways, he remembered it was my birthday and invited the entire office out for drinks after work.

Had an awesome time at that; got drunk off my ass for the first time in AT LEAST five days. Just an incredible celebration.

Happy belated birthday :-)

The host at karaoke led the patrons (all ten? fifteen? of them) to a drunken round of HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! when I went up to sing a song...it was really nice. I had a hard time keeping a straight face or keeping my time and tempo doing BUST A MOVE.

Been too long since my last one, so it must have been something like: Go out to dinner, maybe catch a movie or something.

The last one I remember specifically was my 40th, when a bunch of my friends tossed me a surprise "over the hill" party. I got a black toilet seat and a cane with a rear-view mirror.

Went shopping at Barnes & Noble and had lunch by myself due to a fight with the girlfriend. Our subsequent plans to go to dinner also failed miserably.

We've since made up.

I was in Florida. My grandmother's birthday happens to be the day before mine, and this was her 80th (and concurrently my 30th). So we had a surprise party for her birthday at a German Brewhaus where I imbibed a substantial amount of beer. The following day my stomach was fairly shot. I chilled on the beach for a bit, had lunch with my family, went out for sushi for dinner and then went to the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood and lost some money. In was fairly uneventful. My girlfriend threw me a surprise party two weeks after that.

This thread came up in my random quote area. I'm not going to tell about my last birthday, but rather the one before that, my 21st birthday party.

So I went to The Bar, just a normal bar/restaurant, with some co-workers. And we're just there talking, having some fun. My boss, being recently divorced, starts hitting on this group of ladies sitting near us. In passing, he mentions that it's my 21st birthday, and he tells one of them that she should give me a lap dance.

So whatever. Kind of an awakward thing for him to say, but that's what he always does.

Later, I see one of the girls walking towards me with some ice and some whipped cream in her hand. She pushes my chair up against the wall and straddles me. She sprays some whipped cream on my face and licks it off. Then, she unbuttons her shirt, and starts rubbing ice on her breasts.

Well, as you might imagine, this was a bit of a shock to me. And I was at a loss for what to do. I know in strip clubs, the rules clearly state that you look, but don't touch. But this is just some drink chick. I don't know if I had been able to get away with a feel or not.

For the people who were there, though, their favorite moment was when the ice slipped out of hands, and I quipped "Could someone get her some more ice? We need more ice here."

Incidentally, the only other people who could see nudity were two of my female co-workers, sitting to the left and right of me. I thought how funny how they were the only other ones who could see, and they weren't interested in seeing it in the least.

So that's about all there was to it. Whenever my other boss brings it up, he'll usually say something like "I've been going to bars for 15 years, and that kind of thing never happens!"

So that was my 21st birthday. I swear to god it's all true.
