Florida State University, The New York Jets, The New York Knickerbockers and the Oakland Raiders. Probably in that order, too.

I despise dook (or dUKe if you prefer) basketball.

As a Raider fan I don't care for the Steelers.

As a Cardinals fan, I'm learning to dislike the Red Sox, but don't really "hate" any MLB teams.

My least favorite team is the ones that beat the Hamilton Ti-Cats. Which is what...everyone? Even the Ti-cats themselves?

As a Red Sox fan, I'm told I'm contractually obligated to put the Yankees atop this list.

But the Lakers (well, ShaqandKobe era) win. I mostly loathe certain athletes that people just won't shut up about, especially when the coverage draws the ire of ESPN's ombudsman. (Hiya, Philly #81!)

St. Louis Rams - and that's nothing against St. Louis.

When you grow up going to Rams' games in Anaheim Stadium - watching them lose for 10+ years - and then they move to another city and start winning SuperBowls (leaving SoCal with no football team in the process)....

It tends to leave a bad taste in your mouth.

There's teams that you hate and always will hate no matter what. Then there's teams you only hate during a certain era. Most of mine fall into the second catagory. Such as:

NBA - Jordan Bulls, Bird Celtics.
NFL - 80s&90s 49ers, 90s Cowboys, Current Patriots.
MLB - 90s Braves, 80s Indians, Current Red Sox
NHL - 90s Avalanche - and any team that plays in a city where ice is not naturally occuring.

General - any team that gets all religious (unless it's funny religious, like A.C. Green or something), or even gets too "what fine upstanding young men." Which explains my hatred of the current Patriots, and my near-hatred of my 2nd favorite basketball team, the Knicks during the late 90s, early 00s.

Teams I will always hate no matter what: Ohio State. SS Lazio. Real Madrid. Probably Notre Dame, Duke, and Manchester United.

Horrible fans.

Cards fan here with nothing but love for the Cubs; rooted for them in the '03 NLCS. They just need to die like dogs every time they play the Champs.

Still ???

I admit that I hated the Raiders all during the 70's (and so did mostly everyone else in and around Pittsburgh), but that rivalry has died out here in Pittsburgh ages ago. We have moved on since then by hating Cleveland.....then Jacksonville....and now New England and Baltimore.

Are you like John Madden and never have gotten over that whole "Immaculate Reception" thing ?

P.S. The ball hit Tatum. ; )

in the MLB ... the San Francisco Giants -- I've been a Dodger fan forever, so that's pretty much a no-brainer. Respect Barry Bonds, though.

in the NBA ... the Sacramento Kings -- another no-brainer for me, as a Laker fan. Basically, the Kings have made a name as loudmouth choke artists. Never cared for Doug Christie in particular, also could do without first-class whiner Rick Adelman.

in the NHL ... the Toronto Maple Leafs -- never liked their fans; never cared for coaches Pat Burns and Pat Quinn, nor players like "Sweet" Dougie Gilmour and Tie Domi.

in NASCAR ... can't stand pretty-boy hypocrites like Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Jeff Gordon (glad they've been eliminated from the chase this year), and also don't like general phonies such as Rusty Wallace.

Duke and Notre Dame. Every sport. Even the recreational ones. They could lose every game they play from now until the end of time, and that still wouldn't make me happy. And it really has nothing to do with being a Michigan fan. I keep hoping for some type of NCAA ban.

The "Immaculate Reception" is part of it. The other part is that as a kid who worshipped the Raiders I had to listen to other kids who worshipped the Steelers and Cowgirls. I don't like Dallas either, but always disliked Pittsburgh more. But, if I was a "good" Raiders fan, I'd probably have more hatred for Denver.

As a lifelong Steelers fan I have ALWAYS hated the Browns and the Cowboys. To this day the very sight of that blue star on the helmet or Bernie Kosar makes my stomach turn.

As a lifeling Kentucky fan I was raised to despise three times in this order: 1)Duke 2)Indiana and 3)Louisville. However since Pitino came to Louisville and Knight left Indiana I would say Louisville has moved up to #2 on our list and even #1 on the of many UK fans. Personally, I hate Duke much worse than then the 'Ville. And since UK sucks in football year in and year out I follow Cardinal football now more than I follow UK. I still root for the 'Cats to win the Governor's Cup every year but after that my college football fandom is whored out to the highest bidder.

The Phoenix Coyotes, for obvious reasons. It's so fitting that Gretzky is running that team - He owned the Jets in the 80's.

Also, I really dislike the Edmonton Eskimos. They're a cocky team with a terrible name.

I hated the Knicks with a fervent passion in the 1990's, now I just kind of feel sorry for them.

In the 1980's Cal Ripken Jr was my most hated athlete (see: 1983 ALCS where he single-handedly destroyed the White Sox--I mean entirely by himself), so the Orioles were often a target of my scorn.

The Red Sox are number one right now for me in hate, although I've always dug Ortiz since I saw him in spring training in '99 destroying bucket after bucket of balls in the batting cage under the bleachers when he was with the Twins. Other than Frank Thomas, I've never seen/heard a ball hit harder. He was just crushing it. I like Manny too (I enjoy 400 ft homers).

The UC Bearcats. My hatred knows no bounds on that one.

I also strongly dislike the San Antonio Spurs, for no other reason than they bore the hell out of me.

As a Bengals fan, it's currently the rest of the AFC North, but I have a special loathing for the 49'ers and Joe Montana.

Oh yeah, and I hated Too Cool when they were around too (you didn't say it had to be sports teams :-)
