Damn - I even asked it to send me an e-mail reminder.

Oh well, last year I picked a loser in Week 1 anyway.

Crap. I even checked it earlier this week so that I could make a preliminary/place holder type pick in case I forgot. I guess I forgot to do that too. Just call me the Resident Moron.

Oh fudge. I didn't even remember that the season starts tonight until about five minutes ago. I don't see why stpid Yahoo has to lock the picks a day in advance. Then again, I doubt I'd have made it past September so whatever.

If I recall, Y! likes to send out *Friday* reminders anyway, so you'd still be screwed with a Thursday game.

Yes, you're right. However, you had the option to be reminded on more than one day of the week -- not that I did that, obviously.

FWIW - New Orleans

EDIT - I did this last year - I'm used to these being a "pick the loser" pool. I'm going with Carolina, even though I'm not officially in it.

I hope that because I somehow managed to register twice that I can not only be eliminated in the first week (already accomplished) but win the league as well!

Thanks to those who forgot to pick, I can't finish last, even with taking the risk of Mike Martz on the road. I must really think the 49ers suck to pick Martz off the turf.

You went with Martz on the road? You're a braver soul than I am. Of course, my theory of "let's just pick against Bledsoe as much as possible" might not exactly rake in the dividends, either.

A bunch of us are going to be eating some if this anomaly continues in San Fran (SF leads 21-9 at halftime).

From everyone's favourite The Sports Guy: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/050909

"VIKINGS (-6) over Bucs
How many people are going to be teasing this game...

Rams (-5.5) over NINERS
...with this one? And that's the problem. So allow me to do this:

NINERS (+5.5) over Rams
For three reasons. First, you should never tease two of the Mikes together, not under any circumstances! Second, everyone and their brother picked the Rams in their Suicide Pool this week. And third, everyone thinks the Rams are reliable on the road for some reason, when the reality is this: Against the spread in road games over the past three years, they're 7-19. (See, that's why I get the big bucks -- for stats like that.)"
