This isn't just Rock popping in to say hi every three months; he's been off of TV for over a year.

I wouldn't put it passed the WWE to bring in The Rock for the Oct re-debut of RAW on USA since The Rock DOES have the DOOM movie coming out in October. IF YOU SMELL, THE CROSS-PROMOTION!!

No, that's what they SHOULD have learned. But then again, I have precisely zero experience booking for WWE.

From the Observer (wrestlingobserver.com)

Raw's going to start at 7:55, and the WWE added a 1-hour "Raw Exposed" show to air right after Raw for the debut on USA.

So, *4* hours of WWE programming. Because that's how you pick up new viewers: bludgeon them into unconsciousness w/ your programming. Seriously, who's going to be able to sit through that much WWE in 1 sitting? 2 hours is usually more than people can handle, and they're doubling that.

Somebody needs to swith the coffee to decaf up in Titan Towers.

The added time is meant to combat the four hours of UFC programming scheduled from 8-12 p.m. ET on Spike TV including a two-hour live fight special.

I love, love, LOVE the fact that a new Monday Night War seems to be brewing. All of the opposition maneuvers, all of the ultra-petty WWE counter-maneuvers (or whatamaneuvers, if Vince is announcing)....I love it.

In the UK and Ireland, the Monday Night WWE schedule starts with Bottom Line at 22:00 and finishes with Raw at 04:15. So, please. Don't complain.

All we need now is for Eric Bischoff to say on the last SpikeTV RAW that he's inviting 'ANY former world champion' on to the next weeks RAW on USA?

Even more names added (wwe.com)

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan
Jimmy Hart
Hillbilly Jim
Superstar Billy Graham
The Iron Sheik
"Rowdy" Roddy Piper
Fabulous Moolah
Mae Young
Harley Race
Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka
Chief Jay Strongbow
Greg "The Hammer" Valentine
Nikolai Volkoff
Koko B. Ware.

What better way to start the show than have Koko B. Ware serande the crowd with a rousing rendition of "Piledriver"?

They just added Vader the the Legends roster. Why not bring him back for the show too?

I also saw this quote: "RAW flourished during its seven-year run on USA network ..." Were they only on USA for SEVEN years?

The WWF was on USA for a long time. Much more than 7 years. It was at least a decade, if not more. I mainly watched the syndicated shows in my early fan years, so I never got around to USA and "All-American Wrestling" until later.

EDIT: Actually, considering the run of "Prime Time Wrestling" and TNT, the WWF was on USA for much more than a decade.

I'm an idiot. The WWF/E was on for longer than that but RAW itself was only on for 7 years. Dumb dumb dumb.

Didn't Koko have the very first match on the very first RAW? That would be pretty funny if he started out the show on 10/3. Life comes full circle.

Yes. Though it'll be tough to do a rematch.

- Bobby Heenan tries to get into the show all evening, is denied
1) Yokozuna b Koko B Ware
2) Steiner Brothers b Executioners (Pain & Agony)
- Interview with Razor Ramon, re: Bret Hart
3) Shawn Michaels b Max Moon [IC]
4) Undertaker b Damien DeMento
- Interview with Doink, re: Crush

Wow, look all those people who have no chance of being on this RAW. Hope Heenan makes it. This is just a small reminder that Shawn Michaels is OLD.

They were written on their tights!

Really, they were just Dwayne Gill & Barry Hardy - donning the masks allowed them to perform twice in the same night as "different people." Gill was usually the guy designated to make the Frankensteiner look like a million bucks, so a lot of syndie squash matches for the Steiners would feature oppposition of some dude & Executioner Pain (I think it was Pain).

Wow, I also have a "Prime Time Wrestling" report where Pain the Executioner was billed as "Dark Destiny," so I guess Gill did a lot of work back then. No wonder he won the light heavyweight title!
