Great signing for TNA. I think she has been the only wrestler that has ever been released by WWE that I totally, 100 percent disagreed with it. Unless there was something she was doing backstage that pissed off management, it's still completely inexplicable on why they let her go.

I don't think it's a great signing. There's no women wrestling in TNA.

I like her and all but at this point, she'll probably be a valet and not much more. Nothing to get excited here.

How about this signing?

Jushin "Thunder" Liger will be wrestling at TNA's Bound for Glory PPV on 10/23. The show will be the first PPV Liger has worked in the U.S. since he faced Rey Mysterio at the 1996 WCW Starrcade.

Liger is considered to be one of the greatest cruiserweights ever and one of the innovators of the modern day high flying style used by most cruiserweights.

Daniels vs. Liger? Liger vs. Styles? Joe vs. Liger? Whatever it is, I love it.

I think the best thing to do would be to have Styles face Liger and have Joe face Daniels in an X Division title match.

Some sort of TNA/NJPW partnership has been in the works for a while, and I guess this is the first formal announcement of it.

I'd expect an subsequent announcement about a TNA G1USA Tournament to send two (or around that number) into a 01/06 NJPW G1World tournament, probably around the same time. (And if I'm right, does NJ get to pick the winners like they did elsewhere?) I wouldn't be surprised if NJPW asked send over a young wrestler or two to work TNA and learn a different style.

I wonder if they tried to get Lyger for the opening show? I've been thinking about past opening impressions, and while Lyger wasn't the first guy seen on Nitro, he was in the first match. Whatever they put in that spot can be a tone setter and probably belongs between two regulars, but Lyger/Daniels? would've been a nice call back.

What's really inter-sting to me, and probably only me, is the weird way this has connected promotions. TNA's got a loose tieup with AAA, mostly based on Shocker, but now they're partnering up with NJPW, and they're strongly bonded with CMLL. If there's any group of feuding promotions you could get away that, it's the Mexican ones, but who knows for sure.

If this isn't costing them much, this is a pretty good deal for TNA.

re: Gail; there's talk about doing Women's Wrestling now, but who knows.

I don't think they are bringing in Gail Kim not to wrestle. There are plenty of women they can bring in to face her, either by signing them to build a division or just bringing them in temporarily (the ex-WWE women such as Molly and Jazz, indie workers, luchadoras, whatever). There might even be cases where she can mix it up with the men.

I'm wondering if they should bring her in as a face or a heel. Perhaps they should start her as a face, do whatever feuds they can, then have her jump to Team Canada and let her feud with some faces.

Having Jushin Liger back will be great, although part of me wants to snarkily suggest he should get his win back from that tequila bottle. B^)
