It is unbelievable how much Heyman has improved things already, I know he is supposed to be down here in Louisville for a limited time, but I hope Vince makes it permament. Ken (Anderson) Kennedy, Danny Puder, Albright, and Jeter, are being made to look like a million bucks. Promote this thread! | | OMEGA

I know people who watched the show were worried about what would happen to the quality when he was gone (mainly because, apparantley, Tommy Dreamer, during his run as booker, churned out some of the worst television ever seen).
However, I have since heard great reviews of Paul Heyman's OVW. In fact, I just ordered the August television tapes the other day after hearing about the tremendousness of Dean Hill blowing a gasket on Johnny Jeter. I look forward to watching that tape. | majikx

| #3 Posted on 6.9.05 1320.47 Reposted on: 6.9.12 1320.53 | Cornette did a great job for a long time, but I think he just got to burnt out after all these years. I think constantly arguing with Stamford about who got pushes and who got tv time took its toll. I think it is a great deal for Heyman, he just books the shows and Danny Davis handles the rest of the details. Heyman can't bounce checks if no one gives him the checkbook. I just think that the fact that they got Ric Flair and Randy Orton to put Ken Doane over shows how much they are behind the OVW guys. OVW is not allowed to make t-shirts or other personalized merchandise with WWE developmental talent's persona;s on them, so by buying their monthly tapes you are doing them a grest service. | Craigerson

| #5 Posted on 6.9.05 1553.16 Reposted on: 6.9.12 1555.23 | There was a time where the tapes were taking a while to send off when OVW was relying on some others to do the shipping for them. Once they went to doing the shipping themselves, they've been getting them out pretty quickly.
At least, from what I've been told.
I thought Cornette did an excellent job, but as mentioned above, it was clear that he was starting to burn out due to his battles with corporate. Heyman's stuff for the show has been great and the stories I've heard from a couple of people who work at OVW is that everyone has been very happy with his participation there.

| #6 Posted on 6.9.05 1637.00 Reposted on: 6.9.12 1639.15 | You would think by now they would just ship out dvd's, or at least have an option to send out dvd's instead of god awful vhs. If done in bulk, 2-3 dvd's would actually be cheaper than vhs, and weigh less to ship out. But then again I get OVW on local tv and at least 1 OVW house show a month where I live, so I guess I am complaining for the rest of you all. Anybody hear what tv deal Deep South has made? | CRZ

I'm expecting them to take over the NWA Wildside TV slot, but have no actual KNOWLEDGE behind that hunch. | BigFredMachine

| #8 Posted on 10.9.05 1652.12 Reposted on: 10.9.12 1652.25 | I've been an OVW fan for a few years now, and as a big, BIG fan of Cornette's booking, here's my opinion.
If your favorite food is steak, and you have steak every day for a few years, eventually you're not going to love steak nearly as much as you used to.
I'm starting to think this about Cornette. That same southern style of booking was getting predictable.
Heyman has been having some AWESOME shows - being from St. Louis, I managed to make the trip for the big Cappotelli blood angle - but I worry that he's throwing everything at the viewer at once. I just hope he doesn't shoot his wad too soon. His shows have already started to decline a bit in the last two weeks.
But, OVW rules and here's hoping it always will. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
