Highlights from the Ross Report (wading through the keyfabe):

* JR expressed disdain that "Some pundits on the Internet have over analyzed the Matt Hardy-Edge rivalry which featured a super Street Fight Monday on RAW." So if you think this booking has made Matt Hardy look weak, or you think the electricity was dumb, screw you! JR knows better than you.

* A quote from JR: "Where have all the great tag teams gone?" Later, in a response to a question, he adds "The lack of top-line tag teams in WWE is a reflection of the overall lack of quality depth in the business in general." And finally, "There is no tag team bias in WWE, just a lack of enough good teams to make this division as interesting as it could be."
Rule #1: When some immediately says (without prompting) that something isn't true, it is true. Like a woman who says "I don't care about money." Yeah, then why'd you bring it up? The Bashams were an ok tag team, what happened to them? I don't even know if either of them show up on TV since they split (I'll have to ask TheCubsFan, 'cause I sure haven't seen either of them on Raw or Smackdown). Ditto with The World's Greatest Tag Team. Jesus, there are by my count 53 male wrestlers on the two rosters. And we only have, what, 5 tag teams? I don't know anything about TNA, but I was able to find 4 TNA tag teams in a few minutes.
Put some guys who have nothing to do together. Put Tajiri with someone. Put Val Venis with someone. Put Simon Dean with someone. Put Christian with someone. Put some guys together for a while, and see what happens.

* Shelton Benjamin had "oral surgery" last week, which is why he wasn't on the show.

* While mentiong Stone Cold, JR took a shot at Debra. "Plus, not being driven nuts by a significant other always helps ones sanity and attitude."

* JR mentions Oklahoma opening up their season against TCU, which was played this morning. TCU beat Oklahoma 17-10. I can't wait to hear what he has to say about that next week. And if that was the last time it was mentioned, I'd be happy.

* JR says the next diva in Playboy will occur about Wrestlemania time, which has become the standard.

* There is no set date for any other ECW shows in the future. Whether this means there won't be any or if they're still in the planning stage remains to be seen.

My guess is that the silence will be deafening.

I find this week's report is best read in your favorite "senile old man" voice. It just makes it that much funnier, especially the transition from his concerns about Hurricane Katrina to how much he loves Little League Baseball.

Doug Basham had a squash match on Velocity tonight. He's grown his hair out and has different tights, but he's still coming out with the same music and no gimmick. Danny Basham has been repackaged as Damaja on Raw. I believe that he's been working dark matches.

Good point about the tag teams. There's no reason that each brand can't have five or six functional teams and maybe a few more oddball pairings as needed.

If Coach doesn't bring it up on Monday, I'll be disappointed as hell.

That's more likely a shot at Tess Broussard.

Re: tag teams

Seeing Kendrick vs. London last night on the LAST Velocity reminded me how awesome they were together. Give up on London's heel turn, put them back together and once MNM regain the staps, voila: two young, talented tag teams that can feud for the rest of the year.

Oh yeah you're right. I forgot about her (the one who threatened him with a steak knife in a restaurant).

I agree that they are both talented wrestlers but good god, can Kendrick be less in shape than he is?

He look smaller than most fans at ring side. No muscle tone whatsoever.

I noticed that myself. Paul London is usually the smallest guy in the ring no matter what, but he looked positively ripped compared to Spanky. It was quite jarring to see a guy that looks like that in a WWE ring.

Even my wife noticed how small Spanky is. (When I told her that London vs. Spanky was on, she said, "Nooooo! They're best friends!!!")

I think it's a good thing that he's back to the boxer trunks rather than the tight trunks he was wearing at the end of his last run -- those always made him look like a little boy in his underpants.

Also wardrobe-wise, I must note that wearing a torn t-shirt over his singlet during the entire match doesn't make Super Crazy look any less tubby.
