Looks like Mr. T (moviehole.net) will reprise his role as Clubber Lang in the sixth installment of the Rocky series.

Damn, I just couldn't think of any one-liners with "I pity the fool ..."

Wow, I didn't even know they were going to make a sixth movie. It better be greater than great (and with Mr. T (~!)in it, they have a good shot), because as of now, I still think they should have stopped at four.

Maybe he'll play manager like Apollo Creed did, and Rocky was going to do for Tommy Gunn. (God, I can't believe I remembered that)

And maybe Thunderlips will demand a rematch to get his win back.

Considering that there's a chance that this movie won't be very good, "Prediction: PAAAAAAAIN" might have been apropos. :)

Damn...I probably watched Rocky through Rocky V thirty times each, to the point where I can do the dialogue with the film (a fact I'm not really that proud of). Still, I can't see the point for a sixth of these.

If I had a wish for the film, though, it would offer some redemption for Tommy "Machine" Gunn.

What's most depressing here? That they made a Rocky V, that Rocky V sucked, that they're making a Rocky VI (which will suck) trying to suck more money out of the franchise after the last installment was horrible, or that Stallone and Mr. T actually signed on to do Rocky VI all these years later? Man, I hope we don't have to add this to the list of Rocky V, Godfather III, and Caddy Shack 2 of movies that we will all be required collectively forget about and never, ever mention.

You can probably lump Rambo IV in there, as I've heard Stallone is in talks to make it too.

Am I the only one that liked Rocky V? Far better than either Rocky II or Rocky IV (don't lecture me about how great IV is - it was god- awful when it came out and the only reason people like it today is for retro Ruskie-Commie kitch value).

That being said, I can't imagine how Rocky VI could possibly be good (or what the heck kind of role Clubber Lang is going to play) - but maybe we'll get surprised.

So far I've heard the following:

a. Rocky fights to save some kids' community center

and

b. Clubber Lang is a commentator.

Ick, and ICK.

Come on, think of the possibilities!

Clubber: Deeeeaaaaaaaaaaaad Meat.
Al Michaels: That's right, Clubber. But how 'dead' is this meat? Let's go to Michelle Tafoya at ringside.

I had hoped that the Rocky V was the final one; I mean...it worked really well as a movie (I thought).

Any idea what the storyline reads for this? Rocky comes out of retirement to defend his honour against his young charge...AGAIN?

I thought Rocky V was a good closure to the series...everything came full circle.

The other problem with a sixth Rocky is that it ruins my box set.

Who am I kidding? Even if the plot has Rocky fighting Jar Jar Binks on Mars, I'll be there on opening day.

I thought the main Rocky-managing-Tommy-plot was good enough, but the side stuff with Rocky Jr. and the ending ruined Rocky V. The ending montage covering all five Rocky films to the Elton John song was quite good.

I have no desire to watch it again, however.

Rocky VI sixteen years after the last Rocky movie. You gotta think that there's a certain amount of detachment from the franchise to make a movie this far off. You know, problems like age and such may get in the way.

Stallone's magazine (Sly?) has been printing excerpts from the script, written by Stallone. It's isn't anywhere near as bad as it sounds.

From what I can tell, a 'Mike Tyson' type boxer is going broke because everyone knows that his fights are all fixed. PPV and television networks quit showing his matches because of this as well. He somehow crosses paths with Rocky and they get into a scuffle. Rocky, being like 50 now and retired decides he wants to show this young punk what's what and decides to get in shape for a fight. The boxing commission doesn't want to give him the ok because he's so old, obviously, but chaos ensues and he gets the ok. The 'Tyson character' doesn't want to fight him, but his managers and accountants talk him into it so he can make some money.

That's about all I got from the five parts of the script they printed. It sounds a lot better then Rocky V and to whoever says Rocky IV was crap doesn't know thier ass from a hole in the ground. Ivan Drago was awesome and when Creed died, I do believe I shed tears the first time I saw it.

Okay, I'll backtrack on my earlier comments. If this is gonna' be just two hours of Mr. T and George Foreman calling boxing matches then it could very well end up being the greatest movie of all time~!

Maybe they'll go the Rocky IV route and bring in an evil foreigner...like from the Middle East.

Nah...that's just too stupid. No one would try that.
