Chris Jericho/TNA logo montag

I hate in this day and age that we don't know whether this is a work or shoot. Since its not an official WWE website it could be a work but why they would advertise TNA who knows so it may well be real. If he's going it would boost TNA greatly.

It would be TREMENDOUS for TNA if Jericho signed on to the company. However, like you said, in this day and age you never know when you're being worked. Until either he shows up on TNA or it's confirmed by tnawrestling.com or wrestlingobserver.com or the like, then I'd take that photo as nothing more than.... well, nothing, I guess.

could be an interesting work if they chose to go that way.

however awhile back here: http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/y2jcontract

if the WWE announced it, I'd put a lot of faith in that. Unless the WWE wants to do more work/shoot kinda stuff.

It will be interesting how they handle Jericho's return though.

Is "montag" Irish for "animated GIF?"

Think REALLY hard.

Since its not an official WWE website it could be a work but why they would advertise TNA who knows so it may well be real. If he's going it would boost TNA greatly.
On the other hand, maybe you're thinking too hard already.

Maybe try the Chris Jericho forum (chrisjericho.com) instead

Now watch me do a 180: it's quite POSSIBLE that the extension was only for about a month, and expired on Tuesday. There's also the Fozzy Tour date list (fozzyrock.com) which still has October 1 free. Now, with ALL that in mind....it seems really stupid to speculate at this point in time - yes, EVEN if you're Wade Keller. Pointless speculation is not only pointless, but I'd really like to see a lot less of it over here.

You wont see me doing any conventions or indie shots in the meantime. If Im going to be in the wrestling biz, it will be with the WWE. Im a member of the WWE family for the rest of my lifejust like the mafiaand I have absolutely nothing bad to say about my company. So you wont see me doing any shoot interviews either. Why would I? Vince and I have accomplished a lot of awesome things together and I have nothing but respect for him.

The TNA logo is just a funny swerve to cause threads like this one. Jericho is currently not under contract to WWE, but he's been adamant in assuring them that he has no intention of working anywhere else, he just wants to take time off from wrestling. The contract extension he signed was short term to take him through SummerSlam because his previous contract technically expired before then.

Ha! I bet!

But that is a weird pic for him to have on his site, unless he comes back tomorrow and laughs at all of us for buying into it at all. Either way, I cant imagine WWE is too happy about it.

What's the difference? The fan who visits Jericho's site isn't likely to have never heard of TNA. Anyone who may try to catch a TNA show to see if Jericho shows up isn't really going to hurt the WWE. What it does do is create a buzz around Jericho while he's away. It keeps him in peoples minds and makes him a hot topic. It makes his eventual return even more dramatic and important if people think he could pop up in TNA.

The bottom line is tricks like these are an easy way to create controversy and keep his character important to wrestling fans during his absence.

Scott D'Amore did an interview for Toronto Sports Talk yesterday, and he hinted at Y2J jumping over, something to the effect of "when we debut on Spike, it will be like the first Nitro when Luger jumped, but x10...the wrestling world may never be the same again..." but it was the way he said the word "agaaiiin" which sounded like the way Jericho would say that word in his older promo's. But like previously posted, we'll believe it when we see it.

If thats true then putting the logo on the site was pretty dumb.

Well, plus side for me. With the board server slow as hell, I don't have to moderate there so much. Yay!

I would blame CRZ for linking the forum (and I kinda did in a post there) but I realized I should just blame the pic. Blast you, corny, cheesy pic!

And I have no idea about the Jericho pic there. I'm leaning towards 'teasing every one of us', myself.

It'd be great if he did it. Not really for his long term career, but I'd really enjoy seeing the internet go bananas with who's leaving next.

Hehehe.... I'm glad I wasn't the only one singing that song in my head when I saw the definition of the word.

I just wanted to pointed out that Jericho was one of the first mainstream wrestlers to use the Internet to his advantage -- he asked fans whether he should jump ship from WCW way back when, and more recently, when he was pissed at the star rating given to him in a match with Rhyno.

So now he's a "free agent" and people are talking about the possibility of him going to TNA -- OF COURSE he's going to tease something like that. Have fun at the marks expense. Who can blame him (or maybe his webmaster) for giving that a shot? It helps keep him in the public eye, if nothing else.

All that said, I would be SHOCKED if he ends up anywhere but WWE, and probably in time for the Rumble at that....

You mean like when Jarrett suggested heavily that Matt Hardy was coming aboard during their online show?

Wasn't it his match with RVD at the last KotR that got him all agitated at the internet?

I agree this is probably just a stunt and nothing more, but the timing is still odd. Why would you do something to keep Jericho in the public eye only one day after he left it? I think the rationale for this is to play a prank and nothing else.
