| #1 Posted on 25.8.05 1634.47 Reposted on: 25.8.12 1636.49 | Gamecube's Day of Reckoning has just been given "Player's Choice" recognition, which means it's now $19.99 across North America.
I've read the threads on here about it. I'm not interested in DOR 2 which comes out in a week. But I'm wondering if DOR 1 is worth getting.
I already have WM XIX, the last WM title for Gamecube. It's good enough and I like it. But is it worth my time to start over with a new WWE title like DOR? The roster seems bigger in WM XIX, with most of the same guys but also including Goldberg, Austin, Rock, etc. As opposed to Cade, Jindrak, and the legends.
I'm open to suggestions/advice. How does the game compare to WM? I like WM's gameplay and have no complaints, since I can control my tag partner just fine in WM. | Promote this thread! | | KJames199

| #2 Posted on 25.8.05 1728.10 Reposted on: 25.8.12 1728.20 | DoR has a much better story mode. I hated the "fight security guards in the mall" crap in WMXIX.
The game is basically the same. I think the only new match mode was Bra and Panties. I like DoR's Momentum Shift feature (where a guy you beat up can hit a finisher or a special move out of desperation), but it doesn't happen that often against the computer.
The WMXIX roster is decent, like you said, and if there's anyone you want to add, well, that's what the CAW is for.
Personally, I'm all hyped to get DoR 2 as it's the only decent wrestling game out there (sorry folks, but the Smackdown games really are terrible), but if you're not, then sticking with WMXIX might just be good enough. | Juggalo101

As for DOR2, first Gamecube rassler that I haven't really gotten excited about yet. Judging by the movies & screenshots, I'm not seeing a huge difference with the prequel. | EastCoastAvenger

I'm pretty stoked for DoR2 as well. I really liked DoR, so staying true to the original with tweaks to the engine and graphics is cool with me. | chill

| #5 Posted on 30.8.05 1300.50 Reposted on: 30.8.12 1300.52 | | I was just told that Def Jam: Fight for NY is a really good fighting game and better than any of the wrestling ones. Would you guys recommend getting that Def Jam NY over DOR? I already have the first Def Jam, but Fight for NY is supposed to be a lot more advanced and not just a straight-up wrestling game. | KJames199

Can't speak on DoR2, as it's not out in Canada until tomorrow, allegedly. BOO. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
