I have been trying without much luck to find a 2002 re-issue of The Producers 2 LPs on 1 CD of The Producers/You Make the Heat. I have seen one used copy on Amazon for $55, but wondered if there were some other resources for finding CDs on the net. Help me, please?

Surely I've plugged GEMM (kzim.gemm.com) before, so you must have tried there already. The separate LPs are there, AND pretty cheap, but looks like no CD (although I didn't look REALLY hard).
...sorry to say, it looks like this is long out of print and you missed the boat. There's one copy on eBay (BUY IT NOW for $59.98!)
You may want to send a sweet talk email to One Way Records (onewayrecords.com) and see if they can point you somewhere - or tell you if they're pressing it again Real Soon Now.
Or you could buy the LPs and get some sucker to digitize them for you (hint: tell him he can keep the LPs after he delivers the CD).

I do have the first LP, purchased when it first came out. I saw The Producers at Spring Break in Daytona in 1983 with Joe "King" Carrasco and the Crowns.
I am trying to get all my old favorite music into CD form. I recently purchased a whole mess of CDs including The Vapors, Jim Carroll Band, 20/20, The Wipers, China Crisis, Let's Active, Martha + The Muffins, The Plimsouls, Electronic and probably some I am forgetting.
But this Producers one has been very hard to find. I found one on E-bay for $10 and after I had paid, they said "oops, we really don't have this." I really don't want to spend $58 on this CD, but I thought the folks on the board would have some ideas where to look, too.
Thanks for the helpful links, Chris. I will try the suggested sweet talk email.

Even then, you might end up getting nailed with a copy, like what I'm guessing is the deal with the CKY box sets people are selling on eBay. But I don't think there's THAT much demand that people would go through the trouble of copying the artwork and passing it off as new.
