It's a "performance piece" developed by an artist named Cory Arcangel, created on an NES emulator (you can actually download the ROM yourself from his web site) ... He's also created such beauties as Super Mario Clouds (which is the entire NES game with everything erased except for the sky and the clouds), the Nintendo iPod, and Super Slow Tetris (which one person describes as "A hacked Nintendo cartridge ... supposedly distinguished by a highly participative character, but players’ anticipation will end abruptly - the monotony and slowness of the games leave behind an empty feeling of frustration.").
Freaky ... especially when you consider the fact that the guy never even had a Nintendo growing up!
