Saw something interesting while we were out at lunch - the Delta station was $3.19 and had no business and about 1/4 mile down the road was an Exxon at $2.79 and had cars coming out the wazoo - an hour later when we drove by the Delta their price had dropped to $2.99 - still no cars in line though.

Holding steady at $2.999. I am suspicious that the "3." signs haven't arrived yet ;-)

Maybe the pumps are of the age that they can't charge more than $2.99 a gallon. I've heard some stations are offering prices by the half-gallon to get past that. And some stations are only selling 10-30 gallons at a pop.

Two recent increases put gas here at $1.189 CDN/litre, which works out to $3.83 US/gallon.

Today, we saw a 30-cent skip up to the area of $3.20. I drove past one place that had gas for $2.87 earlier today, and when I passed it again a couple hours later, it was $3.22. And yes, I kicked myself.

I did manage to fill up at a place that still had it for $2.99. Had to wait in line, just like when I was but a lad. I wonder if they'll bring back the even/odd license plate thing? Although vanity plates would screw that up now.

$3.08 as of today. I keep telling myself that a lot of foreign countries have to pay $5.00, but it doesn't work. I still feel very cheap all of the sudden.

Here in Oil-land we've finally cracked the barrier...most city pumps are sitting at $1.14/litre. It's tragically funny that a lot of gas stations don't have signs that can display prices over a dollar, so they are blank.

All of those Deltas and RaceWays that were the cheapo stations were ALL the first to throw the $3.199 price up there. In the past two days I have passed at least 10-15 of these, and only ONE of them had a car getting gas. Ha! Last night I found a $2.699, filled up, and went I went by it tonight, it was $3.099. On the NJ side of the Lincoln tunnel tonight I saw $3.399 for regular.

I guess every single one of these places in the last 48 hours had a truck come by and had their underground tanks filled with "the expensive gasoline."

We're using them all. Spotted $3.35 regular in an unspecified town west of New Haven, and I think there was $3.45 just down the street from them.

Just went up to $3.199 this morning. It's so hard for us to get regular, so our supplier cut us a deal where they delivered 4000 gallons of premium and only charged us for regular (and put it in the regular tank). Then today, the only regular we could get was the 10% ethanol blend.

On my commute from Kalamazoo to Grand Rapids (my wife is liking the idea of me getting a motorcycle more and more as a result of that commute which is a good thing), the cheap stuff was 3.199 and I saw a number of stations at 3.499 by the time I got home Thursday night.

It actually went DOWN in Louisville yesterday. From $3.09-3.19 to $2.89. At this point, any decrease is welcome, altho I was hoping we'd get back to sub $2 before we would see $3 a gallon.
