I'm with you on that, for me it's a lot easier to read white on a black background.
That's why I select the "Pffft!" layout option when viewing this site in particular. It'd be interesting to see what layout style for The-W.com is most popular with registered users.
Edit - fixed. For some reason I originally read Stagger's post as saying that he preferred black lettering on white. *shrug*

It's funny that yourself and others have brought that up. Myself, I've always found the complete opposite to be true, in that it's a lot easier for me to read white on a black background.

We always meant to encourage the more enterprising folks out there to design their own skins and then give us the hex values to program into the board, but ... we kinda never put a page together to help people actually test out different colours and what not.
That last one is relatively new...I can't remember when Aaron put that one in. Those of you who like black text might like that one more than the good ol' ezboard scheme (which remains VASTLY underrated).

Nope - this was loooooooooong after that. If I recall correctly, I think Guru wanted a more monochrome setup - or rather, one with black text (as opposed to the "Greyscale" setup, which was still white text).
