I have been reminded that tonight is the Hall of Fame game in Canton; the Bears take on the Dolphins. Are you going to watch? Do you care? If not, when will you start? How soon into the pregame will the first person be compelled to complain about the ABC announcers? DISCUSS

I was looking forward to seeing how the rookie RBs would do, but since they're not signed I guess I'm S.O.L ...

But there's always Ricky.

I am watching to celebrate the return of football. I will then probably stop watching in about the second quarter 'cause I really don't care about either team and even less about their scrubs.

However, I cannot wait until the Browns game on Saturday evening!

    Are you going to watch?

sadly yes

    Do you care?

NO!!!

Putting aside that these are two bad teams who need about 20 things to go right for them to still have a chance at the playoffs the last week of the season, the NFL preseason is by far the most annoying.

NBA and NHL are under the radar; they don't expect you to pay attention till opening day, and I'm happy to go along with it.

MLB Spring Training is low pressure - they may have to figure out a couple positions, but they don't have to do it today - and is the first sign of spring. NFL Training Camp is the first sign of fall.

Football expects you take their practice games seriously, though they're just as much exhibitions as the other sports. Every stat is over analyzed like a regular season game, but you get the impression that most of decision about who plays when and who makes the team (if it's even up in the air) is based on what happens during the week, not in a 10 minute stretch against someone else's B-team.

(This is first preseason game in years that won't be broadcast locally, which means no Dikta working the game. Good that he's otherwise busy.)

Las Vegas cares - they have the Bears giving 3 points

The NFL Network is showing 55 games in 25 days so somebody else must care.....

The only reasons to watch pre-season are to see the kid from your alma mater get a shot at the big time and to see who gets injured so you can scratch them off your fantasy draft list

Anyone who gambles on a NFL preseason game needs to be put in some sort of gambling addiction therapy program.

Nah. Just read about it on the internet the next day, then cross them off!

I watched about three plays. I saw Muhsin Muhammad make a nice catch near the goal-line that was quite obvious that only one foot came down inbounds. The announcers both said it was a great catch. Stupid announcers. (I didn't think anybody had ripped the announcers yet, so I felt obligated to follow CRZ's instructions.)

It was ESPECIALLY annoying that they repeatedly said what a great catch is was but NEVER REPLAYED IT.

As awesome as football is, these pre-season games HAVE to be the most overhyped thing since R.Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet" Video.

Any college football fans NOT see Brock Berlin's fourth-quarter interception on the goalline into double-coverage coming?

Y'know, as erratic and inconsistant and borderline maddening-to-watch as Berlin was, he DID stage a few pretty impressive 4th quarter comebacks at UM. The only problem was that he would usually play like crap leading up to those moments.

When will I start caring about the preseason? Probably about Thursday night, when I get to see the Pack take on the Bolts, and get a taste of how Aaron Rodgers is looking as the heir apparent.

Nall, Rodgers, and O'Sullivan should all get long looks during that game...which isn't a bad thing...it's a good thing.

As a Bears fan, it was nice to see Mark Clayton look so good, and to see Kyle Orton look like when Rex Grossman goes down with his yearly injury we might have a better backup than the corpse of Johnathan Quinn or Craig Krenzel.

Could have been worse - John Madden could have caught you in the parking lot massaging yourself.

The SAD thing is he only told that story to cleanse our palates from the disgusting taste of Al Michaels' own editorials on massage. Hearing him wonder aloud why Ricky Williams would ever want to learn how to give massages when it's only good to RECEIVE them probably sends out some pretty obvious signals about his "style" as a lover that he really shouldn't be sending out to a national audience.

This has been your "CRZ: sensitive man" moment of the day.

Did Kittner get any playing time?

Doesn't look like it. It's a shame, I'd like to see him get a chance to be the #3 QB.

And I get to watch Reggie Howard sit on the island and get toasted, nicely toasted for all of this season? Yay me.

Except for Madison, the Dolphins secondary was just awful. That combined with their inability to get to the QB has as much to do with Chicago's passing success than Chicago's offense its ownself.

I didn't watch any of this...it doesn't start till Thursday for me either...see my avatar.

I think I'll be watching the game...I'm having my gall bladder out earlier in the day, so we'll see how much football I feel up to.

The closer my illegal pool numbers are to hitting, the more awake I'll likely be.

Go Pack!

Watching a lot of Purdue games the past few years, I actually thought Orton was better than Grossman. If Purdue had a place kicker and Orton doesn't get hurt, they would have been in a major bowl and Orton would have won the Heisman. Purdue had to lose at least half a dozen games during Orton's tenure due to missed kicks/opponents made kicks at the gun. True, he was in a gimmick system. But, Brees was in that gimmick system and has shown something in the NFL, which is more than anyone can say for a QB coming out of the Florida system.
I actually thought the NFL season started though with the Packers vs. Bills intrasquad on NFL network last weekend. Wouldn't be surprised if more people saw that than Colts vs. Falcons from Tokyo.

But the Titans signed Jason White and he won a Heisman. And Heisman winning QB's usually do good in the NFL.

Oh wait......
