I used to watch WCCW every weekend in San Diego. They had alot of name talent and good matches. WWE needs to put the old TV shows on 24/7. In fact, with the scene the way it is nowdays, they could probably put them on regular TV and draw decent ratings,as long as it wasn't buried at 11:00 pm on saturday:)

Just put the Christmas day beating of Fritz Von Erich in the cage on some DVD and I'm there. Seeing the boys handcuffed to the cage and Fritz getting the crap kicked out of him was the first time I marked for the heels.

You sure you're not confusing WCCW and UWF? Saturday mornings ruled here when I could catch WWF, UWF and WCW in the morning, then switch over to TBS for WCW Saturday Night later on. I don't ever remember catching WCCW on any of the local channels (51 or 69)...only time I'd ever catch it and the AWA was during the week on ESPN...

I'd like to see a weekly show of old matches, on cable, it would be much better than some of the other programs they've aired the last few years. If it was in a bad time slot, that's what the VCR is for.

In this week's Observer Dave talked about WWE wanting to do a Dusty Rhodes DVD and said that WWE owns the Georgia and Carolinas video libraries but not Florida, where much of Dusty's heyday happened. So there's that.

Hey Vince, after you buy the rights and create that Von Erich/Freebird feud DVD set, a DVD extra of all the old WCCW music montages would be STELLAR. One of those things I can't ever shake out of my mind is the Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin and Precious montage to Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart." Every time some "American Idol" hack tries to belt out that song, the WCCW memories come flooding back (creating one of the weirdest TV tie-ins ever), which means that the repetitive memory imprint recurs about every 12 months.
