Jamie Knoble! And Spanky, too.

This makes my day. Too bad they let Akio go, as he'd fit right in w/ London, Spanky, Knoble, and the Mexicools.

I hope Jamie goes straight back into his trailer-trash gimmick! I loved that!

But no Nidia... :((((

Just in time for the Dukes of Hazzard movie. I assume he'll keep his General Lee trunks. 'Cause they were so not teh suck.

Just when we thought the cruiser weight division was done for...BAM two more are back in town!!! I hope this is true, god do I hope this is true.

Has this news appeared anywhere else?

I really can't imagine them being anything other than in the same spot they were before when they were in WWE. Of course, they might get a better shot, which is the reason they could be returning. But I just don't see it.

Sweet! The Mexicools may just turn out to be a great idea. Lots of possibilities with this. Damn, I love their stuff, needs a little work but still entertaining.

Question: If his real name is James Gibson, like the article says, does anyone know why he'd choose a gimmick name like Jamie Knoble after being unmasked in WCW, which of course got WWE'ized into Noble?

"Jamie Noble" has a better/flashier sound and look to it than James Gibson. That or maybe he didn't want fifty-year-old marks saying "that's Robert Gibson's son, ya know, the Rock and Roll Express." Okay, maybe that wouldn't happen, but I stand by the first statement.

Noble being hired back isn't surprising, since I believe Meltzer even said that they'd bring him back after the whole "I got an infection from injecting steroids" thing blew over and/or was too late to get any sort of media coverage.

Spanky being re-hired surprised me though, just because it was said that at the time they had nothing for him and he was supposedly unhappy anyway and would rather work in Japan. I wonder what lead to the change of heart on both sides?

I'm hoping for a reunion of Spanky's tag team with Paul London. An Animal/Heidenreich vs. Spanky/London feud would...oh god, who am I kidding...

Jamie Noble is just the Gringo that the Mexicools have been working for ...

Guess WWE wasn't kidding when they told him that as long as he didn't go to TNA, he would probably be brought back. Good for both of them.

MNM vs. London/Spanky could be heckuva good match (after the sales of the Road Warriors DVD slacks off).

Well if the laws of the universe hold up, then the hiring of the cruiserweights will signify other cruiserweights getting the axe.

Yeah, it's the First Law of Cruiserweight Dynamics. No cruiserweights can be created nor destroyed, they can only be hired and fired.

So, in my brief study of tag teams, I've realized that all great tag teams need a gimmick, to be considered one of the all time greats. We've got the road warriors (and demolition who basically stole their gimmick), we've got the bushwhackers, the rockers, the hardy boys, the Dudley boys, etc.

I say we just give the spanky/london combo the name "the new, new rockers" and be done with it. spanky's a student of Michaels anyway, so it'll only be about a year before we see spanky superkick london for no apparent reason, which would lead to a great feud with great matches if it weren't for the fact that both guys are 5'4" and a hundred and twelve pounds soaking wet... which means you're not allowed to work more than 3 to 4 weeks in a row on one of the main shows before being shuffled back to the throwaway shows unless your name is Mysterio.

Eh, now that I think about it, more likely we'd just end up seeing HBK superkick both of them for no apparent reason.

I feel bad for the cruiserweights, it's pretty obvious that unless they put on about 40-50lbs of steroid muscle, stop doing that fancy high-flying "wrestling" thing they do, and learn that a match is all about bad punches in the corner, reversed irish whips, and at least 2-3 rest holds per minute... they'll never really have any success.

Pardon my sarcasm, I'm at work.

The Bushwhackers were a great team? Or did you actually type "The Andersons" and I had a minor braineursym?

I fail to see how the Rockers really had a "gimmick" other than "pretty boys who make the girls scream" or perhaps "Rock and Roll Express rip-offs" (though they were a great team). Ditto the Hardyz.

You forgot the greatest tag team evar.... Edge and Xtian! Who of course went with the vampires turned king dorks. Man I miss that team. Such good times... the kazoos... the drinks with paper umbrellas, the mocking of the Hardyz noobie videos.

Sodas RULE!!
