Added another extra friggin forty-five minutes to my drive home from work ... Traffic was backed up as faaaaaAAR as the eye could see.

But surprisingly, I couldn't smell a thing.

Of course not...the Sizzler was repaired quickly! *ba-dum-bum*

(EDIT: Oops...looks like the picture you linked to updated with the next day's front page...which really ruins the above joke.)

However, I learned while working at a sewage treatment plant during the 90's that sewage is NOT the smelliest thing at such a plant. Sulfur-rich grease spilled from a septic-tank-sucking-out-type truck is.

However, poo water WILL permanently stain a pair of winter boots...I should really get rid of those.

This reminds me of The Worst Field Trip in the History of Field Trips... a third- or fourth-grade visit to a water treatment plant in Indianapolis.

Why they couldn't have picked the Children's Museum, or the Indianapolis Zoo, or an Indians game, a trip to a video arcade or, y'know, absolutely anything else, I don't know.

On the other hand, it was a unique opportunity to see other people's shit.

We had a teacher who used to take us to her dad's apple orchard and they would be pressing the apples to make cider. NASTIES smelling crap (as far as 'food' items go) ever!
