| #1 Posted on 14.7.05 1845.09 Reposted on: 14.7.12 1845.12 | In news you are probably ALL waiting to hear, Dave Chappelle is set to meet with Comedy Central execs next week to discuss the third season of his show... let's keep out fingers crossed on this one.
Comedy Central also signed Ken Jennings as host of a new, untitled game show for next season.
LOONATICS UNLEASHED! is yet another redux of the classic Looney Toons characters, but this one has some star power to it, thanks to having Tim Curry, Michael Clark Duncan Vivica A Fox, and Florence Henderson all doing voice work for the show. It centers on six main characters, all superheroes in the year 2772 who are all decendants on the original WB characters. It probably won't be as great as TINY TOONS or ANIMANIACS was, but it has promise...
In what could be interesting AND sickening at the same time, the fourth season of THE APPRENTICE might have an all white group of contestants going against an all black group. At least this is what Donald Trump is wanting to do...
Annibella Sciorra is joining the cast of LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT as Chris Noth's partner next season. To give Vincent D'Onofrio a break, NBC is splitting the seasons episodes between two sets of detectives.
Lara Flynn Boyle is joining the cast of LAS VEGAS next season as the new owner of the casino.
-----

BTG was awesome...and then they got that other host...and I lost interest pretty quick...they need to bring back Distraction too...they didn't give that show nearly a long enough run. | Whitebacon

"Beat the Geeks" was so much better with Blaine Capatch. He's a decent standup and actually had a little personality. J. Keith van Straaten, in addition to having an awful name, was dishwater dull.
Zed would have made a groovy Music Geek, as he is the proper combination of a general feeling of superiority and unconventional hairstyle.

I just read that Dave Chappelle's writing partner Neal Brennan (he was the guy in the white KKK member sketch that his head explodes after finding out "Clayton Bigsby" was a black man} just broke his contract with Comedy central and is no longer has any desire to return to the network. | Spaceman Spiff

Yeah...the reaction to this (MSNBC) was pretty vicious. So they toned it down (Toon Zone) a bit...

Do you mean split as in the show has four detectives working the case (i.e. Law & Order: SVU) or they're actually splitting the episodes so that one show will be D'Onofrio/Erbe and the next will be Noth/Sciorra? Since if it's the latter, then the Noth/Sciorra shows will be Raw to D'Onofrio/Erbe's Smackdown in terms of viewer interest. | Wolfram J. Paulovich

| #18 Posted on 17.7.05 0433.02 Reposted on: 17.7.12 0434.32 | From everything I've read, Noth was cast as an alternative to D'Onofrio, who apparently turns off a lot of viewers. Also, Noth is a sop for long-time L&O fans. The last newsbite that I read had Noth and a partner as alternatives to D'Onofrio and Erbe. So your prediction/supposition seems right on the money. Alternating episodes. As much as I like D'Onofrio as an actor, I really find his character over-the-top. The old character of Mike Logan doesn't know absolutely everything. I can't imagine seeing Chris Noth say, "Ah, your left eyelid twitched two days ago, which means you have Antwerp-Diegilder's syndrome, which causes people to murder other people in a perfect parabola every other month. I couldn't prove that, but I made your alcoholic maid scream near you until you confessed that you like math and graph paper. That makes you the killer."
Thank Christ that Logan wouldn't do that. Whatever happened to threatening people with a beating? | Roy.

Good. I knew that I couldn't be the only one that remembers the awesomeness that was the Thundercats. What an awesome cartoon.
And Loonatics = very, very dumb. Kids don't need to be raised on fake loonie tunes - they need the real thing. ;) |
