I have absolutely zero complaints about this list. Much love for my favorite shows: Deadwood, 24, Lost, Arrested Development, Scrubs(!) And Ian McShane gets the nod he really deserved last year.
Tightest race (other than the three Desperate Housewives all up for lead comedy actress...take that Eva Longoria!) has to be Supporting Actor in a comedy. I would love to see Peter Boyle finally win one...but Jeremy Piven and Jeffrey Tambor are also so deserving.
I almost forgot! Terry O'Quinn! BOO-YAH!

I've less complaints about the list than usual, particularly since Bateman and Walters were added from Arrested, but there's still a lot of omissions from that show. Hopefully next year when there's now Raymond this won't be a problem.
Lauren Graham's absence from Best Actress, Comedy is once again unacceptable.

The abundance of Will and Grace nominations shows the generally crappy state of comedy on TV. Especially the Guest Actor on a Comedy Series, which Will and Grace has all but one nomination. Or maybe I'm wrong in thinking that Will and Grace is sooo 4 years ago. | Mayhem

Sup, syndication newbie?
Comedy Central has picked up "Scrubs," the quirky NBC comedy, for a syndication run that will begin in fall 2006. The cable channel has picked up the rights to the first five seasons -- including the 2005-06 run, which will likely begin at midseason.

Christ, no kidding. Of course, it probably doesn't help that you and I together are probably 2% of the total audience of The Wire. Audience size shouldn't make a difference, but the academy probably thinks it does. Which is probably why Will & Grace keeps getting nominated for best comedy year after year, and why people actually think Mariska Hargitay deserves to be nominated over every actress from The Wire and Deadwood. I mean, I love the Law & Order franchise, and have watched and rewatched more episodes than I feel comfortable remembering. But you can reduce almost all of Hargitays ACTING(!) moments to pretty much the same thing.
Captain: You're too close to this case, Olivia. Hargitay: Or maybe you're just too far away! Captain: What??? (Olivia turns in her badge and proceeds to commit roughly fourteen felonies in order to save one extremely telegenic small hispanic girl in pigtails. She is then reinstated with no repercussions.) Olivia: As the daughter of a rape victim, the ex-wife of a spouse abuser, the mom of a daughter who got kidnapped by elves and set on fire and the best friend of a guy who was molested by a prop comedian, it eats me inside. It's eating me inside, Captain. Are we doing any good here? Why can't we rescue them all? *DOINK DOINK*
That said, go Zack Braff! And go Jessica Walter and Jeffrey Tambor.
And I'll third the "outrage" over the continued shafting of John C. McGinley and Lauren Graham. She's like Groucho Marx in high heels, and she's never going to get any love for it. | Von Maestro

The way I see it is that the reason critics liked the show was that THE SOPRANOS wasn't on at the time and there wasn't anything else on new so they latched on to it only THINKING it was good cause it was on HBO. Sorry, just my opinion.
Having not seen or planning on seeing DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, I feel Heather Graham was cheated on a nomination for Best Actress in a comedy.

Desperate Housewives entering itself as a Comedy is a good one. I can't wait until they steal the award from my precious, precious prgoram in a category they shouldn't even be nominated for.
Having not seen or planning on seeing DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, I feel Heather Graham was cheated on a nomination for Best Actress in a comedy.
She was very good, but she's a supporting actress, was only on for 8 or 9 episodes, and is second on their depth chart to Sarah Chalke. I think Elliot used to be significantly funnier before they turned her into such a spaz, but Sarah is still deserving.
