Okay I'm not sure if anybody noticed this but when "sport entertainment" came to be in the WWF wrestling was a huge part of the entertainment world. For 4 years Pro wrestling was at it's highest popularity with Hulkamania running wild as Hogan held the belt than after WM4 everything started to go down hill.
With the exception of maybe Hart and Michaels wrestling saw few marketable wrestlers. Then 8-9 years into wrestling fading away we get the nWo,Stone Cold,The Rock,HHH, and Mic Foley(without Gimmick) and for about 4 years wrestling was cool again than right before the Invasion angle everything starts to fall apart.WCW and ECW died and WWF was left on top.
So is there a pattern developing where pro rasslin is big for 4 years and then fades away for a eight years and comes back?
Also take into account that during these 2 Boom periods 3 companys are on top. In the 80s it was WWF,NWA,& AWA; and in the 90s it was WCW,WWF,& ECW. But towards the end of the boom periods 2 feds die out and the E is left on top. If I'm not mistaken ROH is slowly growing into a big company(kinda),and if TNA gets some good grounding for a change they could be competitors with the E.
So in about four years could we see Pro Wrestling becoming mainstream again?
