After losing out on Ray Allen and Michael Redd, the Cleveland Cavaliers have finally landed their shooting guard.

NBADraft.net is reporting that Washington Wizards guard Larry Hughes is headed to the Cleveland Cavaliers for a deal that averages $12 million a year.

However, while the articles notes that the deal runs through 2012, under new CBA rules players can only receive a five-year deal if they are signing with a new team so the deal can only run through 2010.

LeBron's got his running buddy finally. Hopefully, the Cavs can hang on to Big Z (I doubt it though). $12M, though? Well, I'm not surprised.

EDIT:

Timeout. The deal may not be done yet (if at all):

While Windhorst confirms that Hughes and the Cavaliers are talking, it appears that any deal is far from done.

Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry and coach Mike Brown did not come to the Vegas Summer League for the team's first game Thursday so they could remain in Cleveland to continue talks

EDIT #2:

Looks like it's going to happen:

Jeez, finally.

I wouldn't count out Z, they've made him a priority and they do have gobs of money to spend.
