Milwaukee gave him upwards of 96 million reasons for him not to go to Cleveland. Now all the Bucks need is a head coach.

I'm amazed. Redd may have been a permanent sidekick, but he would have been a perennial playoff contender had he packed his bags for Cleveland. Instead, he sticks with the Bucks, who are a sure thing to miss the playoffs for at least the next couple of seasons.

And once again, Lebron gets screwed. No Allen, no Redd, no Playoffs?

No winners in this signing. Just a bunch of losers. (In the case of Redd, a RICH loser, but a loser nonetheless)

Here's a local take on it: http://www.jsonline.com/sports/buck/jul05/339314.asp

And all hail Terry Stotts, new Bucks coach

As ekedolphin said in another post "Someone's gonna overpay for Michael Redd." I think the Bucks just did.

And now the Cavs get to overpay for Stro Swift, Kwame Brown, or Antoine Walker.

God, 96 million dollars? If that's what it took for the Bucks to keep Redd, they can have him. In any event, I think the Pacers are only one or two baby steps away from legitimately competing for the championship-- and that's assuming we're not there already. God only knows what might have happened had we actually been able to play the entire season and playoffs with our complete team, after all.

In the meantime, Milwaukee keeps their best player for $96 million, and in the event that his two (TWO!) seasons averaging more than 20 points per game were a fluke, they've screwed themselves cap-wise for the next six years.

I think Redd's a good player, and I may end up having to eat these words, but honestly-- does anyone see Michael Redd as the best player on a championsip team?

Michael Redd picked a great year to be one of the better players in a bad bunch. If you're paying Michael Redd that much money, you won't be contending soon.
