Hi all:

I know this is mainly for Z and Guru, but would welcome anyone else's input on this:

What are the pros and cons of acmlm's bb system versus phpbb? I'm going to download one of the two for an intranet project. I've used both, but haven't admined (if that is a word) under either of them.

TIA -
Tep'

Go with phpBB. We've put far too much work into this one and it is still not 100% up to snuff.

If it's just for an intranet, it's probably much easier to go with the one everybody uses, and that's phpBB. Even though it's much better now than it was four years ago, it's still a lot of work to bring up an acmlmboard from nothing - phpBB setup is MUCH easier. (DISCLAIMER: I've never actually set up a phpBB)

If it says it's easy, I probably need the php four moves of doom (localhost, dbname, dbpass, tablename) and that's it.

I do like that it can use MS Access, but I'll feel a lot more comfortable if there's MySQL.

Thanks for the input.
